What has happened to this kid now? Is he doing well at Oklahoma State?

Terrible. Don't think he's ever won anything of note.
Lol this is obviously a troll. I personally know Chad, and he has been working out extremely well... getting ready for the Olympic Trials. Would not be surprised to see Chad on an Olympic team next to Centro.

What?! Are you high lol? Chad couldn't even hand off in first in the 1200 leg at Nationals (don't even know if he was top 5 handing off)! You really expect him to even be on the line at the trials. Keep dreaming kid.
Are we talking about 2016 Indoor Nationals? I'm pretty sure he handed off the baton in first this year and if he didn't he was holding back. He knows how to play it right, its not about indoor. RIO 2016!!
Why is there so much hate for chad? I'm a big fan

Yeah he laid pretty low this indoor season. Didn't even run a mile. I'm sure he'll do well in outdoor though. He is the defending NCAA 1500 champ after all

I hope this is a troll. He's thrived at Ok State and won the NCAA 1500 meter title last year outdoors:

Imagine if Dave Smith had the same talent as Andy Powell at Oregon. Oregon gets so much talent and because they've had cheserek and Rupp everyone thinks they are amazing. But they've got a lot of talent that could be great that often doesn't do stuff. Noelle proves that.

Who knows? Maybe he would have just done as well if he stayed? But I agree in that not every program is going to be right for everyone. Training is funny that way.
didn't smith have german, matt mcelroy, etc?

he's defending 1500 champ with a 3:54.96 winning time btw, and he ran 3:41.87 while at Oregon in 2013 down from 3:45.89 while a freshman at Oregon in 2012. So any BS about Oregon/Powell not developing talent is complete crap.
Chad still needs the Trials standard of 3:38.00 if he is to compete at the Olympic Trials. That's a tough one for a college guy. Last year only two American college guys ran that fast, both from Oregon. Colby Alexander ran 3:36.54 and Daniel Winn ran 3:37.54. The only other college guy to run that fast was King Chez (Kenyan) also from Oregon at 3:37 and change.
Maybe Chad should transfer back to Oregon :)
That last post illustrates why people that say Powell is only successful cuz he gets top-tier talent is full of BS.
Daniel Winn barely broke 4:20 in HS. Runs 3:37 in college...that's a 3:354 mile. I would say Powell did a pretty good job there! Alexander improved every year he was at Oregon despite being injured a good portion of that time. Getting a guy faster year to year when he can't stay healthy is a pretty good job of coaching. Also 4:09 in HS to a 3:53 mile equivalent is great coaching.
Dave Smith is a great coach too but any knock on Andy Powell is way, way off the mark.
I think that Chad Noelle will run at least 3:36 this year and make the Olympic Team (3rd behind Centro and Andrews). Agree or Disagree?
