Why did they get a sh!tty recruiting class this year.
A bunch of no names.
Even the University of Houston got a better class.
Embarrassing if you ask me and I'm a huge Longhorn fan.

Calm you're right! Need to Know = TxHottrack
Texas will not make it to NCAA nationals this year, you heard it here first!
Craig is already in Ames, I made the decision for him
No rice:

Wrong! Texas made it to NCAA Nationals this year and will make it to the 2014 NCAA Nationals as well.
Do you think spencer and morolake will follow their former coach???
No one is going anywhere. Mario is an amazing coach and he knows EXACTLY what he is doing. Why would any of us leave when we have the opportunity to win an NCAA championship. He is not throwing distance under the bus at all. He is actually extremely excited about our cross program.
Quit acting like you guys know what's going on when you don't have a freaking clue. As far as new recruits go, you will just have to find out here when cross rolls around :)
TexasXCrunner- I hope you can share more!
on the men's side, they actually recruited pretty well. They addressed a lot of needs in the sprints/hurdles, picked up some quality field athletes. Sure there is no official release on the XC runners, but if poster above is hinting at anything, sounds like they have something up their sleeves for XC....
I think Mario is aware of the state of XC team. He made a point to talk about Craig Lutz in his press release and he knows how valuable Lutz and Dohner can be to the overall team performance.
you can't just "follow your coach." while the administration at Illinois may be unhappy that they lost a great head coach, they aren't going to further hinder their program by just "releasing" their best athletes.
and if they do release them, one of the stipulations might be they can go anywhere BUT texas.
it would open a whole can of worms if schools started hiring coaches based on the talent they could bring with them.
having said that, seeing what TBB was able to do with Illinois talent, I can't wait to see what she can do with Texas talent. "there's a new sheriff in town"
I understand you just can't "follow your coach". Spencer is a superb athlete and Buford played a major part in her development so I'm curious if she will ask to be "release".
I think Mario is a great coach and I think he is going to put Texas T&F back on the map! In the seasons to come we are going to see a Texas team who is going to be a contender in all areas. Texas are going to be able to compete with the likes of A&M, Oregon, Florida and etc.
I certainly hope that Tonja can persaude her former Illnois athletes to transfer over to Texas. Ashley and Morolake added to the roster that is coming back next season would make Texas a top contender on the NCAA level. And let's not forget about if Tonja had new recruits coming in.

So you want her to start off her career at Texas by breaking NCAA rules? TBB is an Illinois alum and I am sure she doesn't want to burn that bridge. But, who knows?
How good was she at recruiting? She had to fight to keep one of those sprinters in state and lost two Illinois sprint stars this year to another school in Texas. I would guess that she isn't even the best Chicago-area recruiter within a two hour drive of Austin now.
LOL at it being over for everyone else. I'm sure she is good, but it is stupid to act like all other schools should mail it in.
You don't win them all. Texas schools lose top athletes from the state from time to time.
How is Texas recruiting in the sprints for 2017-2018????
How is Texas recruiting for 2017-2018 season? Any new recruits out the USA?
Their biggest recruits are Adrian Piperi and Sam Worley. They recruited a few other athletes who on paper had times jumps that may be a stretch to score at conference.
i haven't heard of many big recruits this yr on the women's side. If true, they are Going to struggle to score especially with departure of chrisann Gordon. They recruited a few from in state Megan rourke and Abby Bruddnick and out of state tamea kinsley. They lost a few players to transfers this yr too. Not looking good
Thank you @ Justafew! Who is this Tamea Kinsley? I couldn't find her on Google.
I have no idea why Texas is not landing any elite sprinters, especially on the women side. Many of their sprinters have transferred as well. They will definitely need to pull some sprinters from the Juco's and Jamaica if they want to competitive in the NCAA's and even Big 12! What is really going on at the University of Texas?
I figured it out. Tamea McKelvy signed with Texas. She is an average sprinter. I hope she develops into a scorer @ Texas.
A couple other high in-state distance talents signed with Texas. Connor O'Neil and Jake Johnson. The men are locked and loaded and should be ready to go this fall.
