Neither! Both are black holes for distance runners.
Junior, Senior, transfer?
Baylor seemed to have a run of success up until about 2-3 years ago.
North Texas seems to be having very good success with international athletes. Not sure of their success with girls from the state.
Best bet would be to visit with the coaches and ask good questions.
How are they black holes? Please explain...
North Texas has A LOT of internationals on the team. I guess the program must be good if internationals are choosing to go to school there.
The females team is very diverse in ability. The internationals are great, and then Texas natives are really really terrible.
That's likely due to the fact that the internationals would all be full scholarship athletes, so UNT doesn't have much money to give to the Texas kids, so all they get is mediocre texans that no other D1 school really want.
I don't know anything about UNT but Baylor is definitely a blackhole for distance females.
I know the women's coach used to coach at Iona and had quite a lot of success with the men's team during his time there.
Wait why would a coach leave Iona to go to no name North Texas?

The coaches are International, so they have connections for foreign recruits. Has nothing to do with how good the program is.
Baylor is a better school. That is where your decision should be made.
The coaches are not international! They are all American. UNT's program is very good, the internationals would not go to an unsuccessful program.
Didn't R. Vaughan coach at UNT?. One of the best! However, Balyor is a great school.
How do ones options become Baylor or UNT? How do those two become a final two? I don't see the link.

Yes

It's carefully worded to avoid actually lying. Read it through and you see lots of "help to coach" and stuff like that. AKA, he might have held a clipboard, manned a stopwatch, but probably didn't write up the workouts.
Todd Harbour is a very good distance coach and academically Baylor is leagues better than UNT, especially the excellent Honors program. Also, Baylor women's XC has had a couple of down years in a row, so there are opportunities there. My guess is if you write to Todd he'll immediately write back.
