If you attended school for four years in the UK and came right over, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to compete for a team. Your marks may get you some interest from a lower level D1 or D2 program, but nothing overwhelming. A lot of schools won't see your value since you will only be there for a year competing for them, and don't have any time to develop.
That being said, you may be able to get some partial scholarship. I would doubt however that many schools would look to bring you on with a lot of money.
Another thing to consider is how difficult your program is. I ran for a year while in grad school, but my program was a joke and I could easily balance both running and school. If you are going into a program which is quite intensive, it may be wise to put your focus all on that since it is what you are going to be doing the rest of your life.
Then again, if you truly love training and competing, you can make it all work.
