Greetings all:
Currently enduring the Quintuple at the Oregon Masters and Regional Championships. My brother and I have been kindly swapping victories, and look to finish up the meet with the 800 meters.
So Saturday we had the 10000-1500-3000.
10000 went fast, and both if us broke the previous meet record.
Ahrlin: 31:12.68 1st
Oscar: 31:12.93 2nd
That pretty much sapped the old legs, so the next races were more tempo like.
1500 was pretty even, so we decided Oscar would get the win, so he could get a nifty patch for his efforts.
Oscar 4:19.02 1st
Ahrlin: 4:19.30 2nd
3000 was interesting, because I thought we had a little more time to warmup but we were called to the line 10 minutes early. I didn't want to rock the boat, so I raced in my heavy trainers ( ultra soft Nike Vomeros). Oscar didn't let me off easy, and broke away from me the final 1000 and won. Note to self, it's just tough to race in Vomeros. Hats off to Oscar.
Oscar 9:18.48 1st
Ahrlin 9:27.51 2nd
5000 was supposed to be a little fluffy, but we both wanted to win, and the pace stayed at 5:00 the entire way, and I kicked it in for the win.
Ahrlin 15:37.79 1st
Oscar 15:37.86 2nd
In an hour, Oscar, myself and KP line up for the 800. Hoping to dip under 2:08. If I was fresh, then 2:04 would seem appropriate, but I'm running on very stiff legs.
Nationals 800 was blazing, glad I didn't race that, they would have blown my doors off.
Hope everyone else is having some track success.
I'll need a couple of days recovery after this weekend.
