Have you had a compression test for compartment syndrome?

had shin pain too, for 1 year +
If there is pain there is a reason and is probably in your form.
For me what fixed it was switching to a more traditional heel drop shoe (11mm, I was using 4mm), and making sure that I didn't strike with the tip of my toe, but from the outside/rear to the forefoot, trying to be as gentle as possible. I think my ground contact became longer too.
Now I'm pain free, before my shins were constantly inflamed and very tender to touch.

Glad to hear a non-minimalist advocate. I do not think minimalist shoes are the way to go for medial shin pain. I have tried stints in minimalist shoes as well as lighter weight neutral shoes. And had no relief. Any orthopedist or podiatrist I have ever seen has told me I need to be in a stablity shoe with orthotics.
I can point you to some research that has seen improvement in individuals with orthotics... but with that said; I can't say I've had much success with my orthotics.
Let's listen carefully to what the OP is saying. His shin issues began when he wore clunky so-called stability shoes. We don't know his mileage or surfaces. I'm assuming that he is light. He has had some scans, if not an MRI. I'd MRI this now. I would not try to fix this with form. Shoes, MRI and water running. My hunch is that he has a stress fracture and is/was running too much in the wrong shoes. I'm officially done with overengineered shoes, after abandoning them solved hip/hip-flexor issues on both sides. I think such shoes are for fat people who run turkey trots.
thank you for listening, im getting an mri in a week. your theory makes sense. I used to have no problem going 70-80mpw, but over the past year anything over 40 has started to hurt my shin. it really sucks. thanks for the help
10 minute barefoot run on smooth grass at the end of each day's run (include as part of your daily mileage). This gets you much more on your midfoot / toes where you should be.

When did you last see a massage therapist?
Get your calves massaged at least 5 times in the coming month. Then come back here and I'll give you correct advice for dealing with the posterior tibialis tendinosis that you suffer from. Until then stop listening to the forefoot form clowns. NTHXC is the only one who gets it here.
