Forgive me--but you must be insane or undergoing some traumatic event. Again, Cain is a world class runner--WORLD CLASS!!!!!!!!! 1:59. 4:04. Baxter is a very good high school runner. Could Baxter beat Cain at 10000? Probably. But that would not mean Cain is not world class, and it wouldn't mean Baxter is anything other than a very good high school runner, which is very good . . . at the high school level. Baxter could also beat Sandra Richards Ross at 10000--but what does that mean?

Baxter not comparable? Cain's run probably less than a half dozen 5k's, all in cross country. She's competed against Baxter twice at that distance (NXN finals), and lost twice. This is her first flat 5K. I would be overjoyed if she does run around 15:45 or better, but she certainly has no record of running close to that time in any 5K.

This is the original thread, the results have been posted all day, I dont know why people are barely posting about the 15:45 now
So many posts were removed that it didn't appear to be the original!
A serendipitous confluence of stupidity and reality: congratulations!

Thank god because there are 16 MC threads on the first page of the message board.

I think he means lots of posts in this thread were removed.

You used a thesaurus: congratulations!
Actually, I didn't. But what in my post would even lead you to think that? Do you think I started with "lucky" and got to "serendipitous" that way? I, in fact, wrote it as I did to make the OP's original post seem to be something of high metaphysical significance.

I owe you even bigger congratulations, then, you didn't even need a thesaurus! And you have enough patience to deal with a casual online message board like it's an academic paper. Mad props!!!
Where was the rail on the inside of the track? No legal marks.

Not if the track was measured along the line 20 cm from the inside as opposed to 30 cm.
Bizzari (sp) in 16:18 doesn't seem real. Wasn't she a recent NCAA champ? And Cain continues to shock the world...
I don't believe she is a high school senior yet and a lot has been talked about pro v college attendance. But I'm curious to her current situation: Does she have the option to go pro as a high schooler, continuing to train under Salazar while attending HS classes? Or are there some rules I'm unfamiliar with that states she has to complete HS first?

what rules? this isn't the ussr! come on. she can do whatever she wants, including finishing high school as a home schooled student (or not finishing at all if she so desired) to become anything she wanted to be.
I was referring more to the idea of being a "pro high schooler" and losing eligibility to ever compete in college. I found my answer in your response though, so no worries.
cool story bro
She's GOOD, DAMN GOOD ........ BUT ZOLA BUDD WAS BETTER!!!!!
And the fact that she ran those records barefoot adds even more respect to her accomplishments. Salazar is working Cain way too hard and he'll burn her out before she's 20!!! Guaranteed!
Does anyone know where one could find a video of the race?

Yea, because Salazar is known for putting his athletes' immediate success ahead of long-term development. Like his last HS prodigy, Galen Rupp. Early in his career, he was way better than everyone he ran against but didn't do anything after his junior year of college. I don't even think he's still running.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
