Teg ran very good; 1st time ever racing farther than 20K and was in it the whole way - only beaten by two excellent runners! Good Job Teg - keep progressing towards that Marathon distance!!!

Mo is an American, but he's dirtier than Lance Armstrong. What a shame that he got the record...

Anyone notice that CLUB runners are starting to finish with the pros? Twin cities track club had two runners right behind Andrew Carlson and ahead of another professional Team Minnesota runner Ben Sathre. Lunch bucket guys that are making the elites start to look like maybe they should start training / racing like pros! The club system will rise and the supposed pros will be exposed. No wonder the sponsors are starting to see our sport really is a joke minus a few pros like Teg and Mo.

In fairness, the pro runners here are largely B teamers. The A teamers are usually on the track circuit and are your guys like Rupp, Lomong, Lagat, Ritz, Sol, Derrick, etc. I'm quite certain if any of those guys were racing the club runners wouldn't have even been in sight.

I'm a little lost though on how some good club runners (not like you can't be a "club" runner, work your a$$ off, and be good) finishing up with some pros makes the sport a joke though...care to elaborate on that connection?

nope, not necessarily. they will always havce the waiver that says you "may be subject to drug testing" but most of those races (well over half) that have that waiver don't actually do the testing. for several years Gate river (including mo's first win or two) had zero testing. then richard fannin announced "we will have testing this year". what a erffing bas tard. he seems like a nice guy, but way to make sure that everyone knows to stop their cycle at the right time so they don't make his race look bad. if he really wanted to help, he would have never announced it, and just surprised everyone (including mo) at the line with usada people. oh well, such is life in these united states, get used to it.

How about this quick take from the LR Recap:

QT #4: Defending champ Robert Letting of Kenya didn’t defend his crown. His agent has no idea where he is and he remains missing. Yikes.

Terrific recap as usual fellas. You all often don't get enough credit for the coverage you put together.

As for the earlier crack from a poster about the sport being a joke - I'd offer up the fact that I've never heard of either of today's winners and like to think I follow the sport pretty closely. I don't even know a few of the Americans in the top 10 there. Why do we expect there to be any fan interest in the sport, let alone popular interest, when many of these athletes and their agents, and the sport governing body(s) don't promote any of the athletes. Who are these people? What are the story lines here? Why should I be interested in how the race plays out? This is what makes the sport a joke right now.

Agents? What makes you think that those guys in the top ten that you've never heard of have agents?
