That was disgusting. Glad they were suspended. The lyrics to that song were horrible too. AK-47 references and such.
That guy looked like a moron. What was he doing?

Yeah, sexual females are gross. Yuck!
I would be seriously embarrassed if I had a daughter "dancing" in that video.

You'd be embarrassed by lots of things your teenage daughter does
The punishment doesn't fit the "crime". BUTT, a 17yr old who dances like that KNOWING they are being video taped can not be blameless. If my daughters should that kind of poor judgment, my wife and I would deal with it appropriately (e.g.strict curfew). But missing graduation is ridiculous.
I've seen high school cheerleader routines that are just as sexual.

School rules often teach kids to do the exact opposite of what they need to do to be successful. No one becomes successful by worrying about hurting someone's delicate feelings constantly. Yet schools strive to pump out graduates who are afraid to do anything that some random person might not like. We should teach kids to toughen up and not take things personally instead of teaching them to never do anything out of the norm for fear that some delicate princess might get upset.
Have you ever spent time around high school students? They don't walk on eggshells for random people. Plenty of them are loud, rude, and disrespectful. They will walk in a straight line of 6 buddies in school/mall/wherever and not care about the random person going the opposite direction needing space. Being "out of the norm" is the norm as being "random" is cool. Most of them are terrible drivers and know it (with or without their smartphones). Point is, they already don't care about the random person.
There are people out there who are very confused about what it is to be a teen, let alone a fun loving human being.

This is all subjective morality. What is the background to the situation?
If I tell my son/daughter to be home at 9 pm and they come in at 9:15 pm they would be grounded. If I say let me know when you'll be home, they do, and they're home at 1 am, no problem.
Then someone screams, how can your son be grounded for coming home at 9:15 pm and yet your daughter comes in after 1 am?
The video is distasteful (and moronic), but the punishment is too harsh. I see these girls will not be allowed to attend their prom. So, my question is: Will there be some dance police at the prom making sure no dance moves are even remotely sexually suggestive? If someone shakes their butt at the prom, will they be banned from their graduation ceremony too?

Good logic. You think it was 1. disgusting 2. the lyrics were bad 3. the song has references to guns 4. the guy looked stupid.
Which one of those is grounds for suspending someone?

I went back and watched it again. The kids are silly. They are immature, but who was harmed? I doubt the kids who participated felt harassed in any way. Was any kid coerced into being in the video?
This is one of those areas where an adult calls them in and tells them that they look stupid. Then move on.
The lesson they learned is that some adults are idiots. Not that that is a bad lesson to learn.

Don't know about the suspension, but the girls look like cheap whores from my point of view...they may not have the perspective to see that from close up, but one would think that most of their parents see it and aren't too happy.
They should have been suspended for stupidity. And that is disgustingly sexual, I had more inclination to vomit than to be aroused

I agree. And I would be equally disgusted if either of my girls wanted to be a cheerleader instead of an athlete.
