Thanks. OK, a hint: the record was released by a London-based label.

Partially correct. Welcome to the world of unlimited cocaine, money, and a strong desire to stay fit enough to keep up the lifestyle without too much self-damage.
Jagger was quite paranoid of the negative effects of the opiate drugs Richards was using and tended to not partake at that level, but he sure enjoyed the blow during this period, regardless of the various interviews where he has called it "boring" and "absurd." Wanting to be healthy and fit as possible while living with daily cocaine use isn't an absurd notion; it fits well with the ego-boosting selfish effects and powerful drive of coke in general.
Well well well
Lets be frank, if we narow it down to musician that made it "BIG" I would put my mhard earned money on Mr W. Axl Rose. When he was in his prime. That is.
He used to (love her) do XC in high school and I believe he did a fair amount of running on the stage too.

When I and a few runnng friends watched a video of Axl running around during a show they commented wow! that guy has a good stride....case closed?
In a very recent interview, Mark Seymour mentions his 1500m best time as 3:53.x. That would be consistent with a potential 5000m best of around 14:30, assuming training appropriate to the 5000m.
The interview is in the podcast at the link below with the mention of the 1500m time just after the 07:27 mark.
Who could run the fastest marathon?
Just to put things into perspective, the World Athletics scoring tables consider a 3:53.x 1500m (say 935 points) to be a performance equivalent to a 2:24 marathon.
Of course, a 3:53 1500m performer may not be able to execute the training required to run a 2:24 marathon.
Lizzo
Lizzo.
Easy question; answer: Bruce Springsteen (His breakthrough lp: “Born to run”)!
Van Halen's son was a good high school XC runner a few years ago. He is in a band now.
Flagpole Willy
Isn't Steve Prefontaine the lead singer of 30 seconds to Mars?
I didn't know this. Most of the punk kids at my HS ran cross country, and I know people at other schools who said the same thing. Including Joe Strummer, it's a pattern that goes back a ways.
Wikipedia has a good list of celebrity marathon times- maybe Offspring's Dexter Holland was past his prime or didn't prepare for the distance, but he only managed a 5:21 marathon. Stuart Murdoch of Belle and Sebastian ran a respectable 2:57, in addition to recording "The Stars of Track and Field are Beautiful People"
Back when he was younger (he's now 74) guitarist Sid McGinnis ran a marathon in 3:11, so I imagine he could have run a halfway decent 5k.
Don't know Sid McGinnis?
"Sidney Foster "Sid" McGinnis (born October 6, 1949) is an American musician and guitarist, best known for his work on the CBS television show Late Show with David Letterman, as part of the CBS Orchestra.
The Pittsburgh-born guitarist made his first appearance in the Late Night with David Letterman band in 1984 as a guest guitarist, and continued as a permanent guitarist with Letterman's television shows until Letterman's retirement.
McGinnis has also toured and/or recorded with numerous artists including Warren Zevon, Ashford and Simpson, Barry Manilow, Peter Gabriel Peter Gabriel, Carly Simon, Dire Straits, Robert Fripp Exposure, The Sisters Of Mercy, Cool It Reba, Laurie Anderson, David Lee Roth, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Leonard Cohen Various Positions, Paul Simon, Simon & Garfunkel and others.
I think Alice Cooper's Cortez high school team was actually state champions during Vince's HS years... But I don't think anything else that he says is actually credible regarding his running exploits.
Here is what he claimed during one interview...
Q: I heard you were a high school track star and that you broke your nose during a marathon.
"When I was seventeen, I broke the Arizona twenty-four mile record in 105 degree heat. Afterwards, I was on the toilet at home, and I blanked out. I woke up on the floor with blood everywhere. I passed out and broke my nose in the fall. I still have the record, though. In fact, I was the only one who even finished the race that day."
Not credible on a number of levels.
William Hung. He bang.
Eminem for sure. Dude ran 1:54 in high school and was running up to 17/18 miles a day on his treadmill a couple years ago.
Ray Davies was an excellent soccer player all through high school and considered turning pro.
Master P. In his tank.
