She is well on her way to $250,000 a year, judging by the Nike logo on her cheek.

the way i see it, she can do whatever she wants cause she's hot!
Yes, in 7 or 8 years, but it will be the younger one. Big sister will be injured unless someone corrects her stride.
I agree with that. Megan will run well enough for a college team, but she is not talented enough to keep going like that. She will not be a professional runner - at least not one with a contract.
Seriously it's too early to tell. If HS performance is any indicator, she is on the right track to continue running and maybe land a sponsorhip post-collegiately. Her outdoor performances in the 1600/3200 last year as a junior shows she has monster talent.
I agree. She was very lightly trained during most of her time in high school, and she's been ill during the last month or so.
She has several choices. She increases her mileage and she gets hurt. She doesn't increase her mileage and improves slightly. She corrects her form, gets orthodics, takes a year to do it, and improves greatly.
That just will not happen. Few coaches have the eye to pick that up, the coach will not have the patience to wait for a "corrected" runner to emerge.
is that legal at all? Wouldn't this cost her eligibility? You are not supposed to be both sponsored and get any kind of stuff for free...in college or before...this is - pathetically - regarded as professionalism by the NCAA...
She will fatten up & have tons of babies with some football jock in the near future, just you watch. Look at her, she is a fatty just waiting to happen, she is a party girl, you watch I promise, the Dragon.

Just another corporate logo worshiping fool
I don't know where I've been...Someone fill me in. What's wrong w/ her stride?
I agree w/ reddragon, I have read her interview on fast women and she doesn't sound like she'll last.
Why do some female runners look hot with casual clothes on, but with running clothes? Not mentioning any names ....(Paula...)
How bad can her stride be? She's obviously doing something right. And won't Shalane be a good influence on her next year?

So, We meet again! My old nemesis the Red Dragon! When I questioned you for over-reacting (my words)to a high schooler's performance in June, you chastized me. Now, just months later, you decide to give props to a 17 year old by predicting she will get fat, party hardy, & shack up with of all things, the arch enemy football jock. Wow! You are certainly mellowing. The saddest part of all this is that I secretly agree with you. Yes it hurts to admit that publically. Hey, your ND girl ran quite well this fall. I thought the coach did one hell of an excellent job with her by letting her adapt without over-racing. Don't turn your back, because I will be there to keep you in your place. You need to give me better ammunition in the future however. I'm not real smart, so post something stupid I can jump on.
Well, I'd say 4:43 (full mile) and 10:03 (3200) along with 56 second quarter speed, 2:10 flat 800 and 17:30 show extreme talent for a 17 year old girl!!! She has done low to moderate mileage in high school, mostly in the 30-40 mile range. She has never been injured, even with her funky stride (many studettes have a strange gait, i.e. Favor-Hamilton, Radcliffe). She doesn't even touch alcohol. She enjoys going to parties, but drinks water and dances. Ask anyone who has ever "partied" with her! She is a gregarious and engaging young lady, and one of THE MOST TALENTED high school females of all time! She and her sister wore the Nike tat's on their cheeks because their coach found them at the Colorado state meet and gave them to them! Hell, one just can't win. Many of you would rip her if she was doing 80 miles a week and injured all the time too! I personally think she is one of the most well-adjusted female distance phenoms I have ever met, and I know many who would agree! So piss off all of you who are negative!!! Why not let her develop and see what happens

Wow, I would love to be that teddy bear... I wonder if she will be undefeated this year in track too, Arie seems very tough to beat!
Oops, I'm not a very smart bear. This is the right picture.

And another thing, how many high school runners can say that they've never lost a track race anywhere in the U.S. at any distance? Kaltenbach can! This includes at least a dozen races out of state (and dozens more in state) such as Nike Indoor Championships (twice), Arcadia (twice), adidas Outdoor Champs, Golden West, Midwest Indoor Classic, Penn Relays, to name a few. She has defeated the best around; Huddle, Zeigles, Trotter, Tubbs, Blood, Owen, Siraki, Bei, Craig, etc. Megan is not afraid to race anyone, nor is she afraid to lose or whe wouldn't always seek out the best competition. She loves to compete and is damn good at it!!
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
