I just wanted to get some opinions on training. Some info on myself:
I'm a 4:40/10:10/16:40 senior with 57 speed. Typical week is about 50 mpw. Which includes three track workouts, usually 6x1000m@3200mpace, 4x1600m@5000mpace, and 2x5x400m@1600mpace. Also do two threshold workouts, usually 3x15min@6:00m/m 45s rest and 35min@6:15m/m. The rest is mileage around 45-60minutes at 6:30-7:00 pace. I also fit in two or three doubles where I do 40 minutes of easy running.
So far I've been doing pretty good considering that I've been doing everything on my own but I feel that things could be a little better. I don't think that I have much talent, but I do believe that I am capable of running in the 9:3x-4x range, I just need guidance on progressing. I've been thinking about dropping the trackwork and just doing a four to five month buildup. It's getting really cold where I live and I don't have any facilities to do any type of trackwork, so right now is the most convenient time to do base training.
My strength is definitely in endurance, but then again 10:10 is not really all that fast, so there is lots of room for improvement. As of right now I could handle 80 mpw without any problems, but I'm not sure on how much I should do each day, what intensity to run it at, how fast to build volume, and etc.
So if anyone has any suggestions please post.
