Why try to mar the reputation of the athletes with even the suggestion of such rumors? You guys are worse than a 7th grade class of girls.
It's not a rumor
Oh and you have proof you would like to share with everyone? Didn't think so..

I saw that too...
I actually do have the true story, and I'm going to tell it because I feel like the truth finally needs to come out. Coach Hadsell obviously helped build the women's team into something extraordinary. But as far as positive things go, that's it. Here's the facts. In the far past he had slept/dated one of his athletes and then cheated on her and slept with another athlete. Who knows how many of his athletes he has done this to in the past 15 years (I do not know, and honestly I'm not sure I want to know)He has also partied with his athletes on team trips, and many of these girls were underage. And yes he has bought the underage girls drinks. It is not uncommon for him to drop a lot of money at the bars on team trips with his athletes present at the bars. He also breeds eating disorders. The women on the Toledo team have gone through so much self esteem issues because of the comments Hadsell makes. He might not directly tell them "You're fat lose weight," but he is constantly on them all about their weight and points out girls on other teams and makes fun of them for their "muffin tops" when they are no more than 105 pounds. Comments like that makes the Toledo girls stare at their so called "muffin tops" a few extra moments in the mirror and feel terrible about themselves. But this isn't why he was forced into resignation. I won't use names in this scandal, however I'm sure most of you will figure it out within 30 seconds of reading this post. Coach Hadsell was having a sexual relationship with one of his athletes for approximately 2 years, basically his "mistress" (she has since graduated, but this was going on while she was running for him) Meanwhile, he had been sending inappropriate texts to another woman on the team (the mistresses roommate, actually), a woman that happens to be very VERY fast. These inappropriate texts were not welcome, but Hadsell just kept them coming (I'm talking over a span of years), so one roommate was being sexually harrassed by Hadsell while the other one was sleeping with him. Needless to say he turned his mistress against the fast girl and made her out to be the bad guy. (the mistress is still defending Coach Hadsell in all of this because he has manipulated her that much. ehem "Sleeping with the Enemy") And people will wonder "Why didn't fast girl rat him out years ago when this all started?" And I'll tell you that it's the same reason not one single girl over his entire coaching career at UT ratted him out... he is a powerful guy, he has a lot of pull in the running community, and they were all scared. If one of his athletes didn't agree with him, they might as well kiss their running career goodbye. Because if you wronged Hadsell you could say goodbye to him focusing on your training, caring how you raced, traveling you to meets, etc etc. So this very fast runner put up with it and kept it a secret for years because she just wanted to graduate and further her running career. But sometimes enough is enough. She knew this would continue long after she graduated and just couldn't let him do this to the future Toledo generations. This is not the fault of The University of Toledo. As soon as this huge scandal was brought to their attention they took action. So thank you, very fast runner, for speaking up not only for yourself, but for Toledo Cross Country, past, present, and future. So before you bloggers say he was a "good guy" or that "any male coach would have done it," please think about the emotional damage he has done.

The women are adults. Get over it. People have sex. Is it against school rules for a professor to bang a student?

What a puritanical society we live in. Ever hear of free will and mutual consent?
Yes, it is against school rules to be doing so (at least without telling your supervisor). The reason is that with the differential in 'power' and the 'aura' that the smart/talented professor/coach has, it is not always a symmetric relationship and thus is not necessarily consensual
I don't think I'd ever met Hadsell before but had been impressed how he was doing way more than most coaches to try to seemingly promote the sport. He has his own radio show:

A very nice bio was written about Hadsell that we featured in June where it talked about how he'd basically taken in and raised his sisters three kids as a single dad for 3 years.

I'm not commenting one way or another on a resignation I know nothing about. I just saw this thread and wondered, "Is that the same guy?" Unfortunately it is.
The bio made it kind of clear he had a bit of a wild past so hopefully he continues to grow as a person.

The nice thing about text messages, is that they don't go away, and you are able to get a hard copy from your provider, just ask Kwame Kilpatrick. I hope that all of these ladies get their records for future reference, and furthermore, I would love to see them posted right here so that his defenders will give it a rest, and we can collectively prevent this guy from getting another job where he can prey on others.
He has no business coaching women ever, again.
Wow...
This isn't actually the case. From a 2012 article on a congressional plan to require storage of this date:"An internal Justice Department document (PDF) that the ACLU obtained through the Freedom of Information Act shows that, as of 2010, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint did not store the contents of text messages. Verizon did for up to five days, a change from its earlier no-logs-at-all position, and Virgin Mobile kept them for 90 days. The carriers generally kept metadata such as the phone numbers associated with the text for 90 days to 18 months; AT&T was an outlier, keeping it for as long as seven years, according to the chart."Kwame went down because of a government-issued phone on a government-paid account, which likely had some arrangement for his texts and calls to be logged.

If ALL of this isn't exactly true, this site deserves to be shut down immediately. Ruining his life.
I talked with the robert today he feels nothing is wrong with what is being posted and that everyone has a right to an explanation...TOTAL BS. This site is just a place where vindictive people can come and post what ever they want and not have to be held responsible for what they are posting.
if all of this is what we all think it is? how common is this?
at my college, i only heard this second hand, no idea if its true, the head coach, now retired, would occasionally say to male recruits, "you like blonde hair and big tits?"
"yeah"
"well, then you will like it here"
as far as i know, never even heard a rumor, that he acted on these "feelings" but it still seems like a pretty sick thing to say, even if it is true...
sorry, last sentence was unclear. he NEVER acted, just dirty old man comments.

This is not how the internet (or the laws governing libel) works.
Kevin built at great women's program at Toledo over the last 15 years. I don't know if anyone could do what he has done at Toledo. He definitely raised the bar as far as distance running in our conference and I feel that he made us all strive to be better. Unfortunately, it appears that he made some mistakes and he is paying a heavy price for his actions. Knowing Kevin, I believe that he will learn from this situation and become a better person for it (just like we all hope to do).
For the sake of the Toledo athletes who are in the middle of their indoor season, I hope that everyone will stop posting on this thread and let everyone heal from what has to be an extremely difficult situation for all involved.
They are deleting everything from this thread........
Yeah, holy moly! I was here around 1 and there were, what, 5 pages??
