Sad to see so many men's track and field programs being dropped over the years.
High school track and field has the second largest number of athletes involved in any sport...
Sad...
I can't believe a college can drop their Men's Track and Field program!!
In March, Women's Sand (Beach) Volleyball will start it's 2nd season in the PAC12, South, and Florida. The PAC12 TV Network will carry matches.
Unless AD's are at a school with a big D1 football or basketball income it appears they are trying to specialize in sport to bring in students that few schools offer.
Beach volleyball, Lacrosse, get to add a sport that doesn't cost much and keeps them in line with title nine.
Bowling will probably be the next NCAA D1 sport offering scholarships. After baseball, track and field, and wresting is eliminated you still have to have to have sports that doesn't make money.
