I was about to run the 800m as part of a SMR, but as soon as we were done stretching we got called to clerk in.
I split a 2:21 and the other guys got 60, 27 and 28. How much faster could each of us have run with a good warmup?

Well...what's your PR?
1:59, 52.6, 23.8, 24.1
This was a PR, but I have run 60 flat in the 400 (first try, I think I could run 59 or 58.5 with another attempt) and a 5:25 mile. Don't even ask about 5k, because I am godawful at those.
I ran track (Indoor and Outdoor) as a middle distance and sprinter. My main focus being 400 races. Warming up always helped me perform better. If I didn't warm up I wouldn't perform as well. Warming up is also great for warming up your muscles so they're ready for the race right at the sound of the gun. It's better to take the time before a race to warm up than not to. Take my advice for what it is but it's really not a bad idea to warm up. Especially when you are going after records like I was! Good luck!
