Im hoping to hit VERY big goals next year.Hoping to go 3:10 to 2:45 in the 1k and 19:00 to 16:00.Im 16 and still have a year and a half of HS XC left and I know im shit.So anyone know any stories to keep me motivated through the months ahead? Thanks

My first xc season in high school I could only run low 20s for 3 miles on a flat course and 21 for hilly courses. I revisited a Hilly course near latter half of season (about 3/4s in) and ran 18:51.
2:40 to 2:06 in 800
Never broke 20:00 for a 5k in high school and got below 15 fairly consistently by the end of senior year. Mileage mileage mileage my friend.
In the first 3 mile xc race my freshman year I ran 26:20.I just finished my senior season with a PR of 15:50.
My freshman mile PR was 5:40. I ran 4:46 last year and I hope to break 4:30 this year.
21:47 to 17:03.
26:16 3 mile freshman year
18:43 3 mile sophomore year
16:47 3 mile junior year
16:01 3 mile senior year

(state champ in XC, indoor 3200, outdoor 3200)
I went from 4:50 1500 to 4:03 in a year at 16 with no mileage. Pbs at the end of 2011= 800- 2:11 1500- 4:26 mile- 4:50 3k- 9:36 At the end of 2012 2:03, 4:03, 4:27, 8:59
2:43 800m freshmen year, 2:05 split indoors junior year.

Late starter. Training alone with a coach.
800 - 3:08 to 2:38 off 2.5 months training.
1600 - 6:45 to 5:49 off 2 months training.
2Mile - 14:45 to 13:13 off 800/1600 training.
5K - 24:45 to 21:21 off 800/1600 training. Planning for a 5K in the high teens off 6 weeks training. Starting that in a couple weeks.
Went from 11:09 3200m to a 9:19 the very next year, and only my 2nd season.
In high school:
Freshman year my first XC race was 19:00. By the end of that year I ran 16:50.
Also I went from 10:50 to 9:39 3200 in one year.
