Another college coach wrote: "Competition and change is good; but people getting their lives ruined, jobs being offered through cronyism rather than meritt, lack of stability and shortsighted disision making are not good for the sport no matter how you try to justify it. There's been plenty of that this summer as well..."
Way to turn what was a positive post into something negative!
To re-state what was said:
Here is what has happened this summer:
More big-time jobs came open than ever before - and the salaries for the head coaches jumped. This is a positive for our sport.
The domino effect has opened up plenty of jobs for assistants that are now getting paid more. (this is a
positive for our sport).
Jobs being offered through friendships and comfort is nothing new and has been going on in our society for centuries. Not sure this is bad.
Some dead weight in our profession that had assistant coaching positions was eliminated (that is good for our sport).
