I just heard from several Western Kentucky University athletes that their long time women's distance coach Michelle Scott got canned.
Has this been confirmed? Why was she "canned"? Western Kentucky has a long history of cross country/distance success.

No advertised position yet, but official calls have been made to the athletes by either Scott or someone in charge, and Scott's personal Facebook page now says "former coach" at WKU. I've heard rumors that the head coach Jenkins didn't care for her so maybe that's it, but I have no idea otherwise.
I guess Wes his former boss of Texas Tech, was too late at trying to hurt Rock with some type of negative BS. Great for Rock to land on his feet.

If Wes had the power to stop Rock Light from getting a job at his own Alma Mater then I would hate to cross that man's path! With all the jobs that have opened, that's the best he can do? Director of Track & Field/ XC Damon Martin has and will continue running the ASU program. A nice title goes a long way in making a few more bucks though...
What other updates do we have?
Still nothing official on Toledo or Clemson.
Any word on if Central Michigan has started interviews?
Radford?

Unsuitable coach for the switch to Conference USA. 3rd school he's been fired from
UCLA loss J. Bolden and Johnny Gray to UCF. Does not renew Chris Asher's contract. Hires UCLA alumns, John Frazier (Tenn) and John Henry (USC). Director Mike Maynard is the one to watch this year.
What's the word hummingbird??
Does anyone know if Stanford is keeping their same coaches?
i dont see why gray would go to UCF....

Yo Ucla is about to be a contender

Clemson had a candidate in on Monday who seems to be a not GREAT but GOOD catch for being this late in the game! I heard we will hear something by the end of the week, but then again I heard that from CU before.
Athletes believe it or not sign with "SCHOOLS" because of the "COACHES" at the school. Keep thinking that if you want but if they do not feel good about the coach who is recruiting them they will go elsewhere.
while what you say may be true, the NLI guidelines say otherwise. we have 50 something pages of coaches leaving schools for other schools. the student-athletes, after signing, don't have it so easy. So they better like the "school" as much as or more than they like the "coach."
coaches come and go, the univeristy will always remain. Alabama exits long after Bear Bryant, and so it goes........

Burroughs is listed on 2013-2014 Coaching page if UNT website:
http://www.meangreensports.com/sports/c-xc/mtt/ntex-c-xc-coaches.htmlIf he was fired he wouldn't be listed.
True, but you saw what had to happen for Alabama to return to the days of Bear Bryant too. A high caliber coach with credentials and an aggressive recruiter had to be hired. These athletes sign because of the coaches.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
