Can you imagine in the "real" world of business some new hire claiming all the crap that is on the resume of track coaches getting hired. I look at some of the "announcements" and know they didn't do 90% of what they claim. being a part of successful program is important, but claiming to coach All Americans, and conference champions when in fact the most they did was to say hi before practice is unfortunate. Doesn't do any of us any good.
The use of the term "well traveled coach" can have so many meanings. In the write-up it's probably meant to imply a world traveling, highly coveted individual but if I'm an a.d. or h.c. I'm concerned if a guy has had a number of jobs in a short time span. Does the person bail out quickly if all things do not go well, is every situation turn out to be an environment it's hard to attain success in or can the person just not hold onto jobs?
what the hell does "well traveled" mean?
"Well traveled" in this case means forced to resign. There are hundreds of great coaches in the game waiting for an opportunity; there is no need to recycle coaches who are a disgrace to the profession.

I'm guessing we are criticizing Chris Huffins resume? No one is as "well traveled" as he!
see Eastern Michigan's new release - "Jonathan Debogory, previously of Columbia University, will coach field and multi-events. At Columbia, he mentored the Ivy League champion in the heptathlon"
hahaha. Another example. Columbia did not even have a champion in the event or have a participant during his time there. It doesn't matter what you do only what you say you do.
Dont see how any of these guys can call themselves coaches.

Wow...I thought you might be wrong. But sadly it is true no heptathlon athlete entered!!

Now this guy is going to be coaching a soph pole vault girl who jumped 14'5 as a freshman! He says he coached an Ivy league scorer...if that is his only pole vault credential that is a low level experience...did he even do that?
Jon is a good coach, he will do well at EMU. He can coach a lot of different events and in a non combined program, you HAVE to be able to do that. There has to be a jack of all trades on staff and he is that guy.
Those of you who have ever dealt with sports info people know how bad they can screw stuff up and often. The name of the meet is Ivy League Heptagonal Championships which Columbia did win while he was there and heptagonal looks a lot like heptathlon... Just saying.
Thanks for your concern but all is well here at EMU. The new staff members are going to do great!
What about Boston College? Did that ever get filled?
The Longhorns added Katherine Hoskins to their staff:
My God, you guys suck. Get a LIFE Please!!!!!
Cal State LA added Julia Budniak and Allen Simms as assistant coaches.
Do we have a link on Allen Simms hire?
He just took a job at Idaho last year.
Does anyone know what event background U Maine looking for?
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
