anderson silva vs bruce lee

In a "real" fight, there is no ring, and there are no rules. Bruce Lee would easily dispatch Silva with any bladed or club weapon.

In fact, any of you would have the odds in your favor if you attacked Silva with a knife. You might even kill him. He would probably run away if he could.

That is the difference between real fighting and combat sports. Combat sport is a fair fight staged for entertainment purposes. If you fight fair, it's not a real fight.

what you dont understand is that bruce lee's talent was beyond the physical level. his talent even breached into the spiritual level and spititual realm, which is something silva will never be able to do. im laughing my butt off at all these comments about bruce lee being smaller than silva. this just means more noise when silva hits his head on the ground after lee knocks his out. i would be willing to bet BOTH OF MY RUNNING LEGS (ya, cut them off if im wrong) that Lee would knock out the top 3 heavyweight fighters in the world in a 3 on 1 fight.

take your "size matters" attitude elsewhere. i have been practicing martial arts for over 36 years. my sensai taught us on day 1 that size is irrelevant. its the size of your heart that counts. your boy silva may have a big black brazilian heart, but its a big black brazilian heart that will be literally ripped out by Lee's bare hands (ever seen Road House? or were you busy playing packman still?). sure, i think if theres anyone in history that comes remotely close to lee, it may be chuck norris in his prime or silva in his prime, but they could only attempt to manage him for a few seconds, then lee rips their head off and throws 20 blows and kicks before silva even throws 2. you can respond if you wish, but im done replying to you because i know where i stand on bruce lees supremacy and silva just being obsolete in his shadow.

i be sure to mail you a Pink Karate Belt for xmas, since you never made it to that skill level when you were a martial artist. be sure to wear it around town and tell everyone how your Pink Belt makes you a karate master and how you think silva stands a chance against the greatest athlete of all time, Sir Bruce Lee.

Lee was already an elite and lean athlete. I very much doubt that he would have been able to drop to 125

Bruce Lee is widely known as not only the greatest martial artist, but the greatest athlete of any sport in history.

Lee and Silva are 2 completely different styles of fighters. I have trouble invisioning Silva being about to contain all of Lee's speed, even without weapons. There's no way Silva would last very long against Bruce. Anderson just does NOT have the depth or the arsenal of moves that Bruce has/had.

Silva vs Jean Claud Van Damm or Silva vs Bill Goldberg would be great to watch. But come on, Silva vs Bruce Lee? Bruce Lee practically invented Tae Kwon Do and several other methods of his own. All Silva does is practice some Jui Zitsu. SIlva would be chocked out or knocked out in round 2.

It would be water weight. He could make some diet modifications, lose 2-3 lbs of water a few days out and then cut the last few 24 hours out. I was lean at 150ish, weighed in at 139 and then was 152 the next morning.

Please use the search function. This has been discussed numerous times on letsrun. More than 60% of this board believes Bruce Lee is the greatest athlete in history. Of course, this was a couple years ago when we used to debate this on here, and this board has really gone downhill since then. Alot more trolls and teenagers on here now.

Did Bruce Lee EVER knock anyone out?

Why is there all this speculation on his weight and how it would fluctuate from weigh-in to actual fight?

It's a fantasy fight and if it were to actually happen, wouldn't they just fight? Why would there even be a weight class and all those silly weight games?

Chances are Lee would just try to get bigger and leave it at that.

Bruce Lee would destroy Anderson Silva or any MMA fighter and it wouldn't be close. He had three times the foot- and hand-speed of any MMA fighter. Anyone who doesn't believe this is just plain ignorant about martial arts.

Wasn't there a similar sort of thread a few years ago about Bruce Lee versus Mike Tyson? I guess that Anderson Silva versus Steven Seagal, Jason Stratham, Bolo Young, or Jean-Claude Van Damme would be a more even match up weight-wise.

Bruce would get KO'd and probably seriously hurt. He was strong for his size, and a good athlete, but take into account the aura surrounding Lee is largely mystique.

Silva walks around at 220 pounds or more when he isn't cutting down to 185. Bruce fluctuated but let's say 145. Silva has a head like a cinderblock. I doubt Lee could KO Silva even with a flush overhand right. Besides being 75 pounds heavier than Lee, he has one of the best chins in combat sports history. On the other hand, I doubt Lee could take even a jab from the larger Silva. And Silva's striking is impeccable.

Quit drinking the Bruce Lee kool-aide, fellas.
