1. The course is just a mess. Chris Solinsky was trying so hard not to say it but the course just sucks.
2. What's with the kilometer marks? 2:29 for the 1k then 7:05 for the 2k?
Yeah right...

Chris Solinsky: Up front there's a guy and he's surrounded by other guys.....
So, Chris, who's leading?
"Uh, it's hard to tell but I'm sure it's the same guys"
And the times? 19+ for the girls and 17+ for the guys? This is a joke!
Times don't matter in xc. You poke your nutsack out of your shorts and just run. #ballsout
A perfect example of why Footlocker is better.
Didn't De La Rosa finish second? Did I miss something?

Yes he did. And they were calling 2:29 for kilometer splits. Idiots.
I disagree that NXN needs to get it together. It's the runners who need to choose. They keep on coming, so why should Nike change things?
The NXN course has always been a wet, muddy sloppy mess. Everyone knows this and the runners still chose to run this race. No one forced them. It was their choice - wet, cold, muddy jumping hay bales, vs. San Diego and Foot Locker -Balboa Park and the Del Coronado Hotel.
It would be an easy choice for me, but obviously not everyone agrees.
Yeah, the splits were obviously screwed up. Bekele in his prime wouldn't split 2:29 for a real 1k on that course.

Yeah, God forbid if a cross-country course is muddy. Man, what do they think this is?

^ This.
Yeah, that 1st K split was absurd. Umm, no.
Also, I like how Rupp was talking about how it's awesome that there is "finally a national championship" and that he wished it had been around when he was in HS! Dude has sold out!
God yeah, this was just awful. Slow times, muddy sloppy course. Can you imagine if we had world XC on courses like this instead of fast flat burners....oh wait.
that was hilarious. come on rupp. don't be an idiot

What do you do if you're a girl?
Obviously an 800m split. Stupid that team results are delayed by this long. They do the same BS at the regional meets.
17:09 for the winner shows how dumb this course is. Is it a measure of who the best team is? It's like giving every competitor in the Tour de France a unicycle and saying that the event tells you who the best is.

Wake up. This is xc, it ain't about times, it's about racing hard and place. This was a race of toughness and balls and strength, just what xc is all about.
RUPP IS STILL BUTTHURT FROM BEING WITHROWNED.
