What are your thoughts on my idea for training over winter break and dealing with the harsh weather back home? Im thinking instead of trying to pile on miles (I always seem to get injured/burnt out anyways), I will focus on quality. The weather is horrible so getting out the door and running solo is incredibly hard to do. Im thinking of going hard with either tempo/fartlek/progression the times I do get out and run. Say 2-3 times and week and then throw in a weekly long run. The other days I will either bike, swim, elliptical, or lift indoors. So, essentially, my idea is to not having easy running days but rather go hard the days I do run. Mileage won't be high but the quality will be there while still not over training. What do you guys think?
