Have you been following the results (men)this year? American born runner will be lucky to break into the top 10 this year. Top two are locks; Lalang, Lawi; Sambu, Stephen;
COLLEEN QUIGLEY wins ND...another foreigner; the more you look around at the results nation wide, looks to be a foreign afair for the top spots!
Agree 100% with your comment except with respect to Colleen Quigley who is as American as apple pie. Unethical coaches, e.g., the Western Kentucky guys and a few others are importing professional level foreign runners, of indeterminate age to completely destroy the amateur American college running scene. In some even more outrageous cases, it is happening at he high school scene (St Benedicts, for starters). It is simply an abomination and a slap in the face of every Real American American. This needs to be taken up by the officials at the NCAA. We are witnessing the destruction of the American amateur running scene at both the college and high school level. Period. For starters, no non-US citizen should be eligible to compete in the American amateur high school or college running circuits until they become citizens, and then only after they have lived here for minimum five years. There should also be an upper age limit on competing in NCAA college running circuit, e.g., 24. Some of the foreigners running in college are well above this age limit. It is plain and simple unethical. Discuss.
