Bolder Boulder. Can't even register for it this year. Will undoubtedly be cancelled again. Future looks very bleak for very large races.

The Houston Marathon before the added the half and turned the start line into a 30 minute wait because they lump the halfers with the runners.
Also any marathons that Competitor Group/Iron Man bought out. So many good races completely ruined and now some are being abandoned beause Competitor can’t make enough profit from them.
I only got to run the ryan’s run in 1998, I had started as a keeper at the zoo there a year before, I took an hour vacation that morning to change and do the run and change back into work clothes, zoo director, Steve Taylor, used to do the run then also. I took second in my age group, but I only knew that because the director told me the next day.Had multiple laps through the zoo with two big runs up and down snake Hill, I probably could’ve won my age group but, I was yakking with someone training for a marathon, and then put the pedal to the metal until 4 miles in to the race instead of 3 1/2, so I ended up with second place in 40 to 45 age range. I miss runningSix and seven minute miles but that’s what happens when you get to your mid 60s
Bonita 5k,
Fred Brown Lake Winnipesaukee Relay in NH. Great atmosphere, terrain for all levels, plus you had to carry an actual baton to hand off. Leg 3 had a killer hill at the start. Every serious running club in New England would run it. It slowly died off after competition from Reach the Beach.
Cal 10 in Stockton California. Middle of nowheresville that used to attract world class fields. 10miler.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
