hahaha sports Physiologist you crack me up, and the way you write English makes me think you are a high schooler crank yanking everyone.
The U.S Distance Men had a very successful Olympics, (for them)my break down of what happened...
800-deepest best race in Olympic history everyone deserved a medal...but Kenya got 2 of them. great stuff for Kenya there, great stuff for the U.S.
1500-Kiprop being hurt opened everything up. The Algerian Makhloufi(likely doping, already dropped out of every meet the rest of the summer) and Leo took advantage, Centro needed 5 extra meters, but great race(may yet get a medal).
5000-Mo=unstoppable...Kenya no answer to his wheels..Lagat victim of filthy kenyan move, was a clear and intentional collision from Koech...really made me angry...getting clipped from behind w/100m to go is impossible to recover from, Lagat likely lost a silver medal there.Rupp settled...he will regret that race, he was already content with his silver medal.
10K-Mo and Rupp=Jaw Dropping. Rupp was AMAZING! THE GREAT WHITE HOPE! Mo was the class of the field, and Eritrea=very dirty runners. Kenyans blown away. never even looked threatening. Major Kenyan disappointment in the 10k
Steeple-Kemboi...untouchable. Kenya is still light years ahead of the world in the steeple. great showing from the U.S youth there both Cabral and Jager will get a shot in Rio to medal. (probably only capable of bronze there) Still great progress. two relative novices making Olympic final and being competitive is a great sign.
Marathon-Kenyan Domination, as was truly expected. Kiprotich=underdog hero. U.S mildly disappointing...but still Meb "putting the team on his back tho!!"couldn't have asked or expected more out of any of our Marathon men.
Sooooo what do we see here the U.S FINALLY competed all-around at the Olympics for the first time in a long time. And showing the world is slowly breaking down the Kenyan distance running domination. The U.S was def. the best of the non African nations. (which isn't enough anymore) and made serious steps to threaten the power paradigm of long distance running. The depth is slowly coming around and the U.S is making strides forward again for the first time in a long time(since the 70's?) I am excited to see this continue. If you see London as a disappointment for U.S distance you are an idiot. Great running from the boys there.
