Coburn has a crazy similar progression to Simpson at this point in her career. Going off the IAAF website, in 2008 when Simpson was 21/22 years old she finished 9th in Beijing with a time of 9:22, lowering her PR from 9:33 the year before. Her 1500m PR at that time was 4:11. The next year she ran the AR 9:12 and 3:59. At age 21, Coburn finished 9th at the Olympics with a time of 9:23, lowering her PR from 9:37 the year before. Her 1500 PR is 4:09. Not saying she will run 9:12 or 3:59 next year but I would anticipate another big drop in time to the 9:10-9:15 range and a 4:04-4:06 1500. Would be nice to see a 5k from her as well.
