Every Moroccan 1500 runner is doped up. Even that sham of a runner Hicham. It would be humorous if another doper beats Asbel Kiprop though. It'll prove the only way to beat him is with performance enhancers.

Damn!! The BBC announcer couldn't stop himself before it was even over. Was it Cram?" I'm not sure what I'm watching with Makloufi there."
It was Cram. Maybe he just had that kick because the pace was slow, will see in the final?
He dropped 2.1 seconds in 2 years. He ran a 3:32.9 in 2010 according to iaaf page. A 3:30 guy should be able to blaze a 52.5 last lap off those splits. I just don't get why you would in a semi. Doesn't make sense really. He's either pulling a ramzi or he prematurely shot his wad.
~52.3 for makhloufi, 1:34 for the last 700
the time itself doesn't seem all that outrageous, off of a super slow pace like that, just the way he did it, running away from that caliber of a field, and with his lack of credentials it seems more sketchy
You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. The guy ran well below the world record and the race was slow. Algeria has a good track record in the 1,500m (4 Olympic gold medals for that distance, an Olympic silver in the 5,000m, an olympic bronze in the 800m, 6 golds and 3 Bronzes in total at the World Athletics Championships). Also, it has no history of Olympic champions being caught doping (unlike Ben Johnson and the US). We should celebrate the Olympics and welcome new performances rather than shamelessly pointing fingers without any proofs... Newcomers are always going to be wildcards, but without them. He's young and it's normal at this stage of his career to improve his record with every race. Come back with some positive testing and then you can start talking... In the meantime, enjoy the show!

We, the beautiful elite runners of letsrun must do something about this. Seeing as how the majority are "elite runners" with 13:40 5k prs, call up VADA and let them know.
Most people on LR can´t break 15 even if their lives depended on it.
Ali Saidi Sief?
just about to go in the 800m - this should be interesting
He's not doped up enough to go through with the 800/1500 double.
He should be DQ from the games for not giving his best in the 800m. Same happened in the badminton.

He read this thread and figured he'd better tone it down a bit.

I think it is absolutely clear the Algerian and Moroccan are cheating.
I would love it if the other 10 athletes all decided to go out to line and when gun goes just all sit down on start line.
Then they let the 2 cheats run around with the crowding booing them.
Then after the cheats cross the line the rest of the athletes start running & have a proper race where we find out the true champions without the race being spoiled.
Granted, the real gold medallist would only get given a bronze and their time would be about 7:30 but it would make a hell of a statement!!

Yea? A hell of a statement when those 2 get gold and silver? They won't even medal in the final. Oh he can close in 52 and run 3:41. Big deal. They are going to get dusted in the final.
I would equate the Algerian's performance with the last repeat workout hero from my high school. He kicked hard off a 3:42 1500 pace. Whoopty-do. Nobody remembers who wins the semi finals, and the veterans all understand this.
And the dopers understand that they can run 52 second laps all they want, because they'll recover instantly.
Remember
Salah Hissou, Mohammed Mourhit, Kalid Karouani etc...
What do the they all have in common
doped Moroccans - not Algerians. Hissou wasn't caught??
Nobody has to worry anymore. He was thrown out of the games for lack of effort unless he can get a "medical certificate"http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/olympics/sns-rt-us-oly-athl-atm800-r1-day10-makhloufibre8750l3-20120806,0,6513546.story

How come you guys weren't trashing Iguider after indoor world? The guy didn't exactly come out of nowhere.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
