I am surprised no one mentioned Bill Johnson the skier. Remember his interviews?

In the running vein, I have yet to see an athlete as ostensibly cocky as Steve Ovett from 1977 until the final of the Moscow 1500.
Of course, he earned that right .....
J. Wariner in track. Ryan Leaf in football. Ty Cobb for all sports.
Chael Sonnen if you've ever watched UFC lol
floyd mayweather jr.

Probably Bolt. The guy is clearly on PEDs. He runs sideways through the finish at the Olympics in WR time. Stays out till 4am partying all the time. It's just rubbing everyone's faces in the fact that he's got the best drugs around. I would love nothing more than to see him fail a drug test but the sports community would never let it happen. His training partners were busted a few years back.
You're full of a lot of crap. Take a course in statistics, why don't you? It's not unreasonable at all that eventually someone with enough talent comes along and destroys everyone else. You should quit accusing people you know nothing about.
Justin Gatlin anyone?

Bolt could be next.
Then Kobe.
And then LeBron and Wade.
ali himself admits he got the bragging idea from watching the wrestlers, he said he stole the i am as pretty as a girl line from gorgeous george.
he said when he started boxing and went to fights it was fairly empty in the small arenas, than he went to a wrestling show at madison square garden and it was completely packed and he had seen them do all the bragging on tv for years and said to himself, if you get on the tv and brag and/or be controversial some people will like you and some will hate you, but everyone will come to see you, either to cheer for you or to see you get beat and more fan interest = more money.

Thank you! Those Miami teams were full of the cockiest players around which made them, in my eyes, the best team to watch. They were the best team on the field and they did everything and then some so that by the time the game was over you never wanted to see the U again.
Prince Naseem Ahmed easily.

You could have made the case that Bolt was an otherworldly once-in-a-generation athlete like Carl Lewis....until ANOTHER one of those otherworldly athletes (Blake) came up in the same club, with the same coach. Just like with Trevor Graham (another dirty Jamaican banned from the sport like Ben).
Guilty as charged, and if Bolt and the Jamaicans want to prove otherwise, they can be voluntarily tested (including blood) every week like Felix, Gay, and a few others,
Tiger Woods
I'm going with the Nature Boy: Rick Flair!!!!

Agreed. Micheal Irvin, Jerome Brown, Warren Sapp, to name a few.
Plus one to the people who've already mentioned Prime Time Deion. Remember when he got into the scuffle with Carlton Fisk when Fisk, who was on the other team, dared to get on him far not running out a popup?
Barry Bonds, who I don't like, and Reggie Jackson, who I do, in baseball.
Roberto Duran in boxing.
Diego "La Mano de Dios" Maradona in soccer.
I was really irritated by Bolt's antics at the last olympics. He just seems arrogant.
Larry Bird...hands down.
Bird was THE thug at the time. Talk trash, was cocky, in your face, and annoying.
Like the rest of the greats he could back it up. Otherwise he just be a big loudmouth
You're Looking at the Man!!

Definitely cocky, and equally as dirty.
