Who did Plattsburgh end up hiring as their coach?

No one yet. Coach Lynch is still coaching them.
I'd let Tim Chichester rub off on me, and the Brockport team should as well. Always seemed like a classy guy, and hardworking also.Thoughts? Which AR runner (current or alumni) would you most like to have rub off on you? Certainly have been some greats that have gone through the region.

Frank Ramirez. I used to love it when he'd celebrate at the end of his races.
Why the heck is Ithaca always so bad in cross country?
Looking at track results, they return guys with the following credentials:
Bickell (1:57, 3:55, 8:37, 15:14)
Geary (1:54, 2:31, 3:57, 4:16i, 15:49)
Murray (15:42)
Lu (9:51 steeple, 15:47)
Savage (1:56, 4:04)
Ryan (1:57, 4:06, Indoor NYSCTC 800 champ as a frosh)
And irrelevant for this year, but they graduate guys at 15:09 and 15:29 who have no real XC credentials at all in 4 years.
I realize this is a team of good mid-d guys and mostly mediocre 5k guys, not some killer group of talent, but a bunch of 28:00 type 8k guys from this? How does THAT happen?
They should at least be a team that always contends for top 5, even if they don't make it. Sorta sad, if you think about it.

You can't reap the benefits of 6 years of mileage and aerobic development because you spend 6-8 weeks around someone who has... He's not a wizard... well maybe...
is he even an all-american?

Yeah, I'm with milk n' serial. You can't just hang around him, have to go to third base at least

It's because IC's coach treats the team like a middle distance squad. Maybe things have changed in the last decade, but here's a sample of their training in the early 2000s:
- Recovery runs of only 30-45 mins. on hilly, rough trails
- No tempo runs
- No fartlek runs
- Intervals twice a week
- No long run
- Total mileage 40-50 mpw
The "glory years" of the team (when they actually made nationals a few times in a row) was the result of a perfect storm:
- A few freakishly talented guys who could run well with no training
- A few guys who were motivated enough to do work outside of practice
- A weak Atlantic region
In a nutshell, there's no aerobic development. Look at those mile/3000 times compared to the 5000...if you run a 8:37 3000 you should be well under 15:00 for 5000. Unless of course your coach was an 800 guy and believes all of his athletes can run sub-25:00 like he did off of 800/mile training.
This.
Has anyone seen how fast geneseo soph kent upham has gotten recently? Rumor has it he ran mid 15's in a summer road race and he chased down a sideways turkey in the last half mile. Finished up eating a diagonal roast beef. Don't see that very often. Thoughts??
thank you wrote:

Guy you're trying too hard. You don't have to impress any of your 14 year old friends anymore you're in college now. Relax be yourself and just enjoy.
You know what, my post was completely out of character. I need to grow up and start acting my age. I think that i think too much when i'm talking about cold cuts existing in all sorts of angles, when in reality, turkeys are generally stationary creatures that navigate in a forward and backwards direction like us! Thx
Buff state results. Very hot day but cooler than last year. Times a little faster than last year. As allways Edinburo killed everyone, geneseo raced their B team. Geneseos guys did not look very good today or atleast not as good as last year. Brockport raced their top guys and had a very good day to end up as the top team in the sunyac. Buff state is simply super African and are going to surprise the conference this year. Fredonia didn't race top guys and those who did race tempoed and went through 5k in like 18:30 and closed home a bit. They made sure everyone knew by talking like tools in the pack the whole time. Decent day for the sunyac and a better day than last year

you mad bro???
Watch out for that Savino kid from Cortland, he's an animal
I'm getting somewhat concern that guys on here aren't touching enough boobs. If you could simply post a message saying "touched boobs" every time you touch boobs, that would be satisfactory. Thanks.
But back to discussion, why would Fredonia "tempo" the buff state race? I just don't understand why you would even show up to a race and try to tempo it. Seems like a waste of time.

Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
