Is the Nationals course this year, the actual course that D1 has been using in the previous couple of years?

No you're right dude its the same. It just has one less lap than the D1 course. The D1 course has a few 2k loops and this D3 course has one less one.
Plattsburgh gone git murdered. Geneseo and Cort gone be mad gud. Probz same w/ UofR like always. RPI looks the dopest they have in mad long. Lez see 1 more? Outside shot..... NYU just based on past performances. 5 teams will go, our region has proved that for the past 4 years.
1. Cortland
2. NYU
3. Geneseo
4. Oneonta
5. Plattsburgh
Sleeper: Buffalo State
Regional Course is really slow so that could play to the advantage of a team as deep as NYU
If you are picking individuals already you need to throw Sam Rakoc and Nick Marcantonio in there. Rakoc was abroad and Marcantonio was injured for Outdoor. Both of whom, though, gave stellar performances when it counted at regionals and nationals.

You're so gay dude. These cortand guys come here and talk themselves up. Nick is good he just can't stay healthy and the other guy ive never heard of. Regardless we know Cortland will make nationals so it doesn't matter if nick is up there or if blazey picked himself to finish in the top 5. Lets move on and talk about the teams on the bubble or individuals it's no fun if everyone agrees on the same thing

I know Buff State got Alex Ngabo and Buomkuoth Jiak running for them now. Who else did they get? Their team wasn't exactly deep last year. Salas has talent but whose their 4th and 5th man?
oberlin on oct 13th should be interesting looks like nyu and geneseo, any others ?
Ken Ryan from North Syracuse is going to buff state. should be able to run at least as their 5th
I think that the regional course is going to be hosted by rochester this year at genesse valley park. Will it be the same course as the yellow jacket invite or a totally new course set up? That park becomes a mud pit very quick!
In previous years when the University of Rochester has hosted regionals, they have done so at the Genesee Valley Golf Club. The last time they hosted, it was a particularly wet season and the course was very wet in the back portions of the course, but in decent condition overall. If it's dry, it's a pretty fast and "easy" course.
Especially with McQuaid Invitational there and (usually) Monroe County championships. Although I heard the yellow jacket invite made genesse valley park unusable for counties.
The course is not on the golf course like in 2005, it is a 2k loop in the park, that was used for the usatf club champs (I believe that meet) a few years ago.
The ncaa course at Laverne has deep grass and alot of gradual hills. Its not fast.
Any good freshman coming into the region this year, by that I mean guys who placed high at state xc level or ran under 420 or 930 this past spring.

No. Particularly weak recruiting year across the board I believe. Besides the Buff state transfers, not much coming in. Should really make the returning depth more important
Predictions for this year, based on returning athletes from 2011, and considering the fact that freshmen guys don't historically make a huge impact in scoring for the top teams (with some obvious exceptions). These could certainly shift if someone has particularly strong recruiting class that bucks the trend.
1. Cortland - Runaway favorite. Their top 5 were in the top 20 returning finishers from last year. And this doesn't take into account the huge track season from Amengual.
2. Geneseo - Hit hard by graduation, but addition of Miles-Rath (transfer) and a healthy Wortner should still make them pretty strong.
3. NYU - Return a few good guys at the top (Karten, Bonilla, Oja) and they tend to show up when it counts.
4. RPI - A good coach and they lost only their #1 man from last year's team that finished 6th.
5. Rochester - Also lost a lot to graduation up front (Vavra, Ramirez), but a solid #1 man in Pacheck and a good supporting cast (Hamilton, Wakimoto) should help UofR contend on their home course.
6. St. Lawrence - Lost 3 top-15 finishers from 2011 to graduation. Terrible track season. Similar to Geneseo's graduation losses, but without as much depth behind them.
7. Fredonia - Returns all 7 guys from team that tied for 10th last year, as well as an individual NCAA qualifier (Francia). Expect to see continued improvement from them, perhaps even moving up to 5th or 6th with a big race at Regionals.
8. Ithaca - Only graduated 1 guy from their top 5. Team tied Fredonia for 10th last year.
9. Plattsburgh - Solid #1 guy in Millar. Was a top-10 team in 2011 and expect to see similar results in 2012.
10. Oneonta - Had a decent track season in the mid-distances and steeple. Can it translate to XC? If so, they could finish even higher than 10th.
Sleeper - Brockport... returns all 7 guys from last year, new coach (recent grad Pete Manktelow). Could be much improved.

I have *heard* that NYU has a 4:12ish guy coming in, but he's also a 1:54ish 800 guy, so not sure how strong he'd be in cross.
They typically don't rely much on their freshmen in any case. It seems like a lot of their guys take a year or two to really adjust to the program.
Pat Fannon will destroy all.
Carry on.
Hey Geneseo,
