Wow, Cornell just released their track recruits for the men's team. The roster is impressive to me...

No formal additions of frosh to Cornell's xc roster yet, but here are some "possibles" for cross:
Samuel Baxter | St. Mary's, Ontario
Baxter was one of the top distance runners in Ontario and all of Canada when he sped to a 9:12 two-mile. He's been a low mileage athlete who will develop into a college star.
Brian Eimstad | South Eugene, Ore.
Eimsted is another excellent distance prospect from talent-rich Oregon, where he ran 9:12 for the two-mile to finish second at the state meet.
Connor Herr | Shawnee, N.J.
Herr finished the year as one of the top high school cross country runners in the Northeast with a 21st-place finish at Footlocker Regionals to follow up on his top-five finish at the New Jersey state meet. He has a best of 9:23 in the two-mile.
Tyler Kawalec | Solon, Ohio
Kawalec enters his Big Red career with a personal best of 9:39 in the two-mile race.
Mitch Martin | Half Moon Bay, Calif.
Martin comes to campus holding a personal record of 4:19 in the mile.
George Oliver | Mt. Tabor, N.C.
Oliver holds a personal best of 9:22 in the two-mile race.
Ben Rainero | San Francisco International, Calif.
Rainero ran 4:12 at the very competitive California State meet in 2011 and took the year off to do research last year. He is another low-mileage kid who has dramatic potential.

Frankly, it looks like the real dynamite in Cornell's recruiting class is more likely to show up in track season. The Big Red had major graduation losses this spring, esp. in the hurdles and decathlon, and they did a solid job of refilling those slots with their recruits.
And Coach Johnson (the only one left there!) brought in some more *outstanding* throwers, to help offset graduation losses, fill the team's hole in the javelin, and complement her returning crew. "Wow" indeed!--this year, as last, the throwing areas should be key for Heps t&f team titles.
...Particularly given that Princeton's *preliminary* track roster--NB: minus C. McCullough--looks a bit thin in the throws, and no specialist throwers were listed among their recruits. (OTOH we've already seen them plug roster holes pretty successfully in the spring semester...)
