I'm a freshman, and kind of a new runner...so if i have a 30 min or so 5K time, do u think i'll be last at my first xc race? Just an average meet? I really don't want to come in last, but i don't care about winning...

If you run a 30 minute 5k you will most likely be last, even in a HS girl's freshman only race.
However, you have at least two months of training time before your first race. Get in some miles and you'll be okay. If you know who your coach will be, meet with them for some advice. They'll probably put you in touch with some other runners so you can train with them.
Depends on the race. I just checked a random result (this was literally the first one I looked at) and there are several girls slower than 30 minutes.
Be sure to recruit a friend to your team that is slower than you.
Are you an incoming freshman? Are you running at all this summer? If you aren't a troll, we'll coach you to a sub-30:00 5K by fall.
high school or college? in high school, there maybe someone else there but not in college.
At the high school meets I've watched, there will always be girls over 30 minutes on the frosh teams. So if you're in high school, you should be okay--and with practice, you'll do better. Good luck!
Yeah, I'm an incoming freshman (HS not college). I've been running for a few months already (have run up to 5.5 mi), and will be running all summer. I've haven't actually run a 30 min 5K yet(current PR is 32:39), but I'm thinking that I'll be around there by xc.
Thanks for the link, No Way. It was really helpful :)
At my HS we had guys right around 30:00 for the first meet of the season. Some girls were as slow as ~38 minutes.

Do whatever it takes to not be the last finisher. The pity clap is dreadful.
