Want to run more? Here's an idea: Run more.
So your coach gave you a 40mpw schedule. You want to get 70 mpw, or whatever. Do the assigned stuff the first week. Next week, do that and one morning five-miler. Next week, two five milers. Six weeks in and you're at 70.
Pay attention to your body, and if you're overtired or feel anything tweaking don't add miles the next week. Make every 4th or 5th week a down week and just do your coach's stuff.
How hard is this???
Don't come on here in three years saying how your 5k is 17:30 but could be faster if your coach had developed you more. Go do something.
