Hellllo,
I am a 21 yr old, d1 woman collegiate distance runner. This past winter, I injured my groin area, and after a short recovery period I ran the 5 and 10k during outdoor. I have dealt with orthotic failures, pt, 3x weekly chiropractic care, cross training, etc. trying to get better. I have not been completely pain free since XC season!!!
Things HAVE been better, despite a new (hopefully minor) injury. I believe I strained something in my lower back (not sure). I went to the chiropractor every day this week and got a massage, (with minimal benefit).
I was wondering if there are any forms of cross training recommended, or anyone with similar circumstances. I want this to be a strong xc season (as it is my last year) In any case, I have a 5th yr eligibility for track. Here is some additional info:
-I have 2 previous collegiate injuries to both my achilles as well as groin area
-PR 5k: 17:58, would like to drop to 17 flat or under !
---> I am willing to do anything, though I am not sure what type of training I can do at the moment. The back pain started 2 days ago. At first, it hurt to walk, but now I can walk fine. Is pool running okay? Does anyone have any training regimens that would be beneficial to the injury prone? Any weight lifting plans that would help??
