So, I see the schedule of the events with the 1500 ending in a quarterfinal? Does that imply that the semi-final will be held at the actual NCAA championships? So, the quarterfinal would be the last round of the 1500 on Saturday?
This sport is fvcking hard to follow for track nerds.
There will be a semi-final on day 2 of the actual championship meet (Thursday the 7th). The final will take place on day 4 (Saturday the 9th).
This feed sucks. They just announce results for the top 3 on occasion with a little logo screen looping. Why no webcam pointed in the right direction??
Yeah this is not a good webcast... how how how can you mess this up? Point the camera at some action and commentate SOMETHING. How hard can this possibly be? They couldn't have paid two hungry college track nerds at UT some hamburgers to sit there and watch and a feed and commentate on what they see?
Seriously, I don't get this.
I am sick of that damn NCAA logo page-show some action.
We are proud to be using our state of the art equipment to bring you the NCAA regionals!
Just watched the women's 400. Here is the live feed: http://www.texassports.com/allaccess/?media=319868
They're not showing the scoreboard or using a graphic to give heat by heat results. There is no way to keep track of the time qualifiers. The picture quality is horrible and it took all of two races for the finish camera guy to follow the leader past the line, so you couldn't tell how the rest of the guys finished. Every possible amateur mistake is being made. It's unbelievable.
And if that's not bad enough, they're using a Hy-tek system for the live results. The East is using Flash, so you get the heat by heat results in real time, plus the field event standings in real time.
The whole thing is complete amateur hour. Just embarrassing.
anyone else getting the occasional Alvin and the Chipmunks sound from the live feed?

That's the best part of the broadcast.
Yep

This announcer is awful,
"The pack is packed!"
"There will be 2 laps left to go as they cross the line, right......................................NOW!"
In heat 1 of the Women's 1500, the announcer gave the times of the top five, who automatically qualify, but didn't feel it valuable to give any times beyond that. That would have been more or less OK if the camera guy had kept the camera on the finish so we could see how far back the rest were.
It's like these guys have never been to a track meet before.
sounds fcuked up yo
While the feed does have its problem, I'm just happy that its free. I got over the audio issues by playing techno/house music in the background on my tv.
The times go up pretty quick here: http://www.texassports.com/livestats/c-track/Click on the Last Completed Heat or Last Completed Event link.

True. The latest completed heat feature wasn't working well earlier, but worked well for the Men's 100 as long as you check it often enough.
That shouldn't be necessary, though. And the thing that freaks me out is that I don't remember any issues from when Texas hosted the regional two years ago. I remember it being perfect.
It doesn't matter who is actually leading the 10000, just say "Ryan Collins Wisconsin".
Collins is awesome, he's changed identities and jerseys at least four times. We're in comedy territory with this guy.
