I guess you would have to ask the NCAA clearinghouse which said he is eligible to compete. The ruling came down the other day.
As I understand the original NCAA sticking point re Jordy Williamsz, it was not any alleged connection with sponsors (Nike, or anyone else) that was at issue, it had to do with the number and type of competitions he had entered over the past two years or so while competing for MTC. We had all heard the questions about sponsorship, but I was told that the NCAA clearinghouse was focused on the competitions he had entered. I do not claim to know this as a fact, only that this is what I was told by someone who is very close to the situation.
