Running in North Carolina in the summer is actually quite similar to running in Texas (more humid though) and Californians seem to do just fine in the distances, much better than Texans as a matter of fact. Nice try though.

I guess you could call that a competitive result....if you were competing with JUST Orange County.

At the California Southern Section Masters meets, there were 7 4X100 results under 42. Mind you, this is NOT the California State Meet. It is NOT most of California. It is NOT Los Angeles City at all, and It is NOT San Diego at all. It is mostly JUST Orange County and Long Beach.

And that is why Texas is NOT as good as California.

That's great and all, but the state meet doesn't always have the best team.

4 Regions, with each region only having 2 runners/teams make it to state. There is now (just started this year?) an extra spot for the next fastest runner-up out of all the regionals.

So some regions, being stacked, often times have plenty of solid athletes/relay teams that don't make it to state.

And that's great and all, 7 teams under 4x100? Well, at the Region 2-5A meet, 7 teams went under 42 seconds in the 4x100 in a final of 8 teams.

And that's not including the other divisions, 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A. Nice try though.

Coach D - Just looking at relays:

In 4 x 100 Texas had 5 teams under 41 seconds - California a Big Fat Zero

In 4 x 200 Texs had 9 of top 10 times in country - California maybe does not run but had BIG FAT ZERO

In 4 x 400 Texas had 5 teams under 3:15 - California a BIG FAT ZERO!

4 x mile - 1st

Texas:

100 - 1st

200 - 2nd

400 - 1st

800 - 2nd

4 x 100 - 1st

4 x 200 - 1st

4 x 400 - 1st

Sprint medley - 1st

High Jump - 1st

Triple Jump - 1st

Pole Vault - 1st

Please don't bring your "divisional" or "sectional" stuff - These are absolute bests in the nation
