Alvin and the Chipmunks. They're sounding a little juvenile now.

Um... Just because you were in what appears to be the coolest frat ever, doesn't mean you are correct.
I am from the South, so when I think "frat rock" I think Jam Bands like Panic and Phish, as well as Southern Rock.
Most NorthEast frats are all about shit like OAR and Limp Bizkit.
You're probably right--my experience likely was not representative. We were not very "fratty," and when I look back, it really was an odd collection of free-thinkers/individualists who, contradictorily, decided to join a club. For what it's worth, we were in the mid-atlantic.
One of the best parts of that frat was going to see some great shows--Pavement, Fugazi, Frank Black, and the Jesus and Mary Chain stick out in my memory--and bringing in good local live music for parties.
I guess the lame-ass end of things was held up by the Theta Chis on our campus, who liked to put that one House of Pain album (the one with "Jump Around") on repeat at their parties.
Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, I wore those records out. Barely listenable now. Beatles, they still stand up great.
Anyone remember Sugar Ray? "every morning when I wake up.."
The Smiths
Sugar Ray is coming to my city this summer!
Cheap Trick
Pink Floyd (just draining)

Great answer.
Live
Not sure why I liked them and not REM. I now think they both suck.
Deftones & POD
Greenest. Sounded great when I was a teenager, their older stuff still sounds great. Their new stuff is definitely lame. Sell outs.
Damn predictive texting! That should read GreenDay.

Okay, so I am by no means defending Sugar Ray as a band, but their lead singer Mark McGrath (or something like that) is a real standup guy that does a ton of philanthropic work. He is also a decent actor. He is also engaged to his high school sweetheart, which is kind of endearing.
Basically, even if the band sucks, I can't hate them b/c he seems like a decent guy. Honestly, I could not tell you one song other than the one you mentioned.

Some of their more obscure songs are pretty good.
How many hipsters does it take to change a lightbulb?
Hmm actually, it's a pretty obscure number... you've probably never heard of it.
U2.

Korn
Journey. I still think they're okay, but they used to be the only band I listened to. I guess I still like them, but I don't take their music seriously like I used to.
I used to be all over the Backstreet Boys. Times sure have changed.
