Um.. That wasn't the question.

Based on Deca/Hep PRs, so some not recent.
Clay has hit the A in Deca, LJ, and Jav.
Hits the B in 110HH.
Hardee: A-Deca B-LJ
Eaton: A-Deca, 110HH B-100m, 400m, LJ
Foutain: A-Hep, 100H, LJ, HJ

For 2007 USATF, Webb had the standard for 10,000, 800 and 1,500 withing the qualifying window as his 10,000m time was from the 2006 season.
Could have easily hit the 5,000 in that window if he lined up.
For 2011 USTAF, Solinsky had 3 standards met within the same window.
So, 3 is what we can actually document for distance runners.
The way Webb did it, running the longer event early in the (longer) qualifying window, then the shorter ones later seems to be the way to do it to me. Also note that Webb was injured all of 2006 after that 10000. Could he have run a qualifying 5000m? Well, not in 2006, since he was injured. Almost surely had the fitness in 2007 but all his training was focused on the speed end that year. So going for the 5000 would have disrupted his training or possibly left him injury exposed.
So, I maintain it is very difficult to do it within the specific window. I still think there are a few athletes who could do it but very few.
Pre?
Didn't he hold the AR's from 2mile to 10k at one time?
What would his 800 have been?

Christian Taylor and Tianna Madison in the 400 is nuts. They would probably be beaten by the respective fastest 800m runners if those half milers moved down.
Christian Taylor's 400 best the past 3 years (all first week of April):
2011: 45.46
2010: 45.55
2009: 45.34
US trials standards for 400:
A: 45.30
B: 46.00
If he wanted to he could probably get an A qualifier. Definitely a B. He ran some very good 4x4 legs for the Gators.
Lopez Lomong-800, 1500, steeple, 5000
Galen Rupp-1500, 5000, 10000, synchronized swimming
Angelo Taylor:
400 hurdles, 200m, 400m and 110 hurdles
Dwight Phillips:
Long Jump, triple jump, 100m and 200m
Justin Gatlin:
100, 200, 400 and 110 hurdles.

I can't find any history of Taylor competing in 200m or 110 hurdles. He did compete in Triple Jump in high school. Can't find a PB for him.
Dwight Phillips is a good choice. His lifetime best is an "A" standard for long jump and 100m (10.06) but only a B for the 200m (20.68 vs. 20.55 A standard) and Triple Jump (16.41 vs. 16.66 A standard), so he has the standard in four events, but not simultaneously. Of course he really only competes in one event.
Gatlin ran a 13.88 in 110 hurdles in college, which is a B standard (13.52 is A) Gatlin ran 13.66 in high school but that is over lower hurdles. He ran a 53 in high school in the 400 hurdles but that is far off the standard. I find a 45.1 relay split for him for the 400m in college, so almost surely could not make the A but a chance at the B. Thought he might have long jump history but can't find it.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Jenny Simpson yet!! She could without a doubt make the 1500m, 5K and steeple teams (as she has run the standard in all events multiple times) and probably hit the 800m or 10k time if she actually tried.
More research:
Whoever said Fam had a very good chance. He had the qualifier in four events between 2006 and 2008 and may have had all 4 of them in the qualifying window for 2007 nationals. I can't find a complete competition record for him, though.
Lomong was mentioned. He has no competition history in 5000m, steeplechase, or 10000m. So he only has two although from his 3000 times he could surely make the 5000m just off current training.
Perhaps the all-time guy I can find is Glen 'Jeep' Davis. Two time Olympic Champion in the 400m Hurdles, he also held the world record in the 440m. His times in the 400m (45.2) and 400mh (49.1) would qualify for the trials today. He also ran nationally competitive times for 100m (10.3), 200m (21.0), 880 (1:52 when WR was 1:48ish), and had good marks in long jump (24'8") and high jump (6'8"). I have no idea what the qualifying process was for National Championships at the time he was competing but he would have been very competitive in those events--a threat to win at 100m, 200m, and possibly HJ depending on the year. The 880 and Long jump would not have won but would have placed in the 5-10 range, depending on the year you look at.

I don't know if it was intentional, but I love how you use qualifying potential in the steeple to separate the men (Lagat, Rupp) from the boys (Hall, Ritz, Sol, Teg).

You're an idiot. Lagat and Rupp are also men.
I know you meant the reverse, but they're all men and you know you'd be happy to sniff their balls.
Jenny Simpson easily qualifies for the Olympic Trials in the 800. She ran 2:01.20 last year. She hasn't run the steeple since 2009, but does anyone really think she'd have trouble running 10:15 this year, which is the B standard to get in the trials?
And Shalane Flanagan ran A standard times in the 1500, 5000, 10,000 and marathon last year.
Gatlin ran 44low leg in 4x400 NCAA Oudoors 2002 for Tenneesee.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TbYBTOLhRZ8Angelo Taylor's PB in 200 is 20.23 (Rieti meeting, 2010)
Phillips PB at triple jump was in his junior year...also his 400m PB (46.80) was in his freshman college year. I think that right now he's capable to make "A" standard if he tries the triple jump seriously.
Stephanie Pezzullo, already has a steeple qualifier (9:55) from last year, qualifed for the marathon trials (although didn't run in it) with her half marathon performance from last fall, and may well get the 5k and 10k standards this spring in some track meets (she is running Peyton Jordan I believe - not sure which event).
Very possible she qualify for the trials in 4 events this year.

And she was a very good D1 soccer player at Penn State before starting her running career.
Now that is talented versatile athlete - plain and simple.
Clearly, Jenny B Simpson could qualify and maybe even be top 3 in the 8/15/5000 and steeple.
I'd give her and Lagat top multi event honors

Thanks, it can be hard to find all those results! Any idea what Angelo Taylor's jump PRs are?
I think Rupp is a great runner and would definitely make the 5k,10k, marathon, and could possibly sneak in the 1500 on a tactical day. That being said, those who think he would make the steeple are nuts. It takes a special athlete to excel at the steeple and he is not it. I could see Lagat doing well at it though.
