What can I do to become a more well-known, stronger, faster runner? I know it's very vague but I want to outperform myself, because to me, enough isn't enough. I ran the mile the other day as a sophmore in a kilt (Highland Games Kilted Mile) and won it with a time of 4:45, but to me that isn't enough. With training, sure the workouts are hard, like today's I did 4x800m @ 4:40 mile pace w/3minutes recovery, and I sure am worn out, but an hour later I feel like I have plenty of energy. I want to make it to where by senior year I can run in the sub 4:20's and outshine other runners and get recognized by colleges. Now, to all of you wise runners/coaches, what can I do to become a stronger, faster runner? Whether you type some intense workouts, to cross training, to lifting, to double races -- I'll do any of it, I want to push myself. I can't get any better if I don't have the knowledge of what I need to be doing.
Thanks!
