Yeah, and the tailwind was epic, "hurricane like", wind-aided by at least 2 hours - just like Boston. Yeah that Boston wind, I didn't even have to try.

Didn't say that Pippa is unattractive, just that I think Kate is much more attractive. Reading is fundamental.

Skiing is much bigger than T&F in Scandinavia, central Europe and Russia.
I live not too far from where this race takes place... First of all, this is a huge deal in Sweden. 50,000 - 60,000 people take part in the different races over the week of competition culminating in the 20k person Vasaloppet. The top XC skiers in Scandinavia have rock star status and the guy who won (Brink) is a household name. Just go into a bar in Dalarna and say "Peter Northug is the greatest" and see what happens. My friend who recently ran a 10k in 36 mins did the race and he finished in 8:30. He is Swedish and grew up putting around on skis. He is definitely not a good skier but he did train for the race and knew what he was doing. Pippa's performance was quite good but the best part is that I have had unlimited joke ammo this week. Also, skis and waxing is HUGE. The longer the race, the more of a difference this makes. Pippa had her skis prepped by the pros and that is no small advantage.

"pippa" is more like "screw" in English. My Swedish mate always mentioned that when Uta Pippig's name was said.
7.13 is impressive, esp if a debut at 90k.
Vasaloppet is one of four jewels in an unoffical sporting crown. the other 3 are Liddingeloppet, the 30k XC race; Vättern Runt, a 300k bike race around Lake Vättern; some open water swim in Stockholm.
Pippa in Swedish (it's almost as bad in Italian)-
