Morehouse was D III when Moses was there. It is now D II.

Thanks for the update and clarification on coach Nedeau. If I remember, he came from a modest program at Northeastern. I'll definitely have to direct some smart high schoolers his way. After I get them to look at Williams of course!

I'd like to see him go for a 4 minute mile this weekend, but I don't think IC4A or ECAC is going to be a fast enough meet unless he has a teammate rabbit him somehow.
I believe Amherst has a couple sub-1:54 guys but they probably don't want to lose points with one running a 2:30 1000 and then dying.
He'd have to do it solo, like G.F. did at Conference his first year. Highly unlikely, given the other events he's doing I'm sure. Is he doubling at nationals?

But no one cares about points at ECACs do they?
Amherst isn't strong enough in a significant amount of events for them to really go after points. There is a focus at some meets (DIII New Englands indoors; NESCAC outdoors) on team scoring but for the most part it's about each individual coming away from the meet closer to their goals for the season.
I can only conjecture as I'm not at Amherst anymore, but Scheetz will not go after another fast mile indoors. If history is any indicator, Ned will have him use ECAC as an under-distance meet to get the wheels turning (a 500 or 600 and maybe a leg on a 4x4 or something) and then gear up for Indoor Nationals.
I noticed last year that Guarino didn't double in the 8 and the mile indoors although he did outdoors (15 and 8) and I suspect that probably had something to do with the indoor schedule. I don't know off-hand, but if I were a betting man, I'd say Scheetz goes to Nationals with the intention of defending his 800 meter title and that's it.
They're making an Olympic Trials push so he'll want to have plenty of good races down the line as well.
Wow. If he runs a little bit faster, he'd be able to beat the PA high school state record.
Amherst is running a DMR at ECACs going for the national record.
I thought they already had the DMR NR from last year or did someone break it this year?
Aw man, why do people always have to do what's best for their team instead of random things that I think would be cool? oh well
I believe Bowdoin was a few tenths off the NR a few weeks ago at BU running 9'49 (record is 9'49.low). ECACs DMR will be quite a race as Bowdoin, Bates, Amherst, and Tufts are all looking to run close to that.

Pretty sure no one in high school has ever run under like 1:48.8. My HS record is 1:49.0 and I'm pretty sure that's the second fastest HS time ever.

...and then they all lose to Stevens Point or Lax at NCAAs. Book it.
And who exactly has run faster than Andrew's 1:49 HSR?

Sounds plausible, thanks for the insights. I guess some of us distance guys have our biases, being much more excited over the prospect of a DIII guy breaking 4:00 indoors than a DMR record. Oh well, best of luck to 'em either way.
a dark horse will emerge in the DMR this weekend
Nice.
My guess is that he's referring to outdoor track records...which are a bit different than indoor records.

I was talking about the outdoor record. So you're right. If we only consider indoor times, this collegiate athlete could actually beat high school kids.
This season, no one in DI has run faster than the school record for Bell Gardens High. Imagine that, in all of DI, no one can even top the record of ONE MEASLY HIGH SCHOOL. DI is a total farce.
