No, I heard there was some OTHER high school girl. Like Galen, she was a soccer player and was extremely talented at running. Unlike Galen, she decided to go back to soccer after a few years, and that was that.

Chad Johnson went from DIII runner to Uni of Minnesota and ran two years for the gophers, but only one year of Cross. He and Dan Browne were the two athletes Salazar chose to invest in as they launched the NOP, though a few other runners lived in the house as well.
Johnson's jump from decent collegiate runner to national champion was almost instant as he won the 25k USA Champs in 2001, the year the NOP started.
Johnson was on the front cover of Wired magazine that had this ever telling profile of the NOP. We're now 12 years beyond...
