With all the quality vs. quantity arguments has anyone had success with working this in a year long periodization.
Spring - Track Stuff: Speed, lower mileage more interval based focus.
Summer - Base / lots of mileage
Fall - Mileage / Hills / Threshold focus.
Winter - Some down time, lower volume build up for track. Recovery period.
Pretty basic high school / college season. But with the talk of nothing but "Cross Country all year" that's great... but why not speed in spring, mileage and threshold in the fall?
