I could not let this pass. The headline and sentiment seems to suggest that the secret to the Long Island girls success is no intervals, no tempos. However, even a quick analysis shows that these girls are training very hard, and harder than most. 3 65 min runs within which hills are run hard. a 90 min run. 30 second strides are pretty close to 200s. Tons of racing. 10 out of every 11 days training.
This program is good. I am not knocking it, but it would be more accurate to say " Long Island girls training like Kenyans with similar success."
