I was wondering if anyone has any information about the nutritional beliefs and practices of the Fayetteville Manlius team?

Not Applicable......
If you really think high school kids need to focus on nutrition in training you've gotta re-evaluate your priorities. Their coach preaches healthy eating, I'm sure. And they probably eat pretty healthy most of the time. But I'm sure they have oreos and ice cream once in while too.
McDonald's on Monday and Thursday and taco bell Tuesday and Wednesday and Sunday and finally dunkin donuts the rest of the week??
these kids just train hard. 3 hour long runs up in the 'ghetti of green lakes. hard runs, fartleks. meeting everyday that they can... just discipline and hard work
If, when they sign up, both they and their parents are asked to make a commitment to a lifestyle, then yes....I'm sure nutrition is a part of it.
Whatever they are eating it's working!
I believe I heard they are not allowed to eat white bread, everything is whole grain / whole wheat, including bread, pasta, rice, etc.
I'm sure there are more details than this. They definitely all do commit to eating healthy and getting to sleep early, of course in addition to training hard.
And I am pretty sure they do not have the occasional Oreo's and Ice cream...
3 hr long runs..really?
more than a bit of hyperbole on that one.
as for the rest, balanced healthy nutrition with occasional treats, yes. 'not allowed to eat' this and that, no.
he teaches them how to eat right, doing so is their free choice, kids are encouraged not policed.
most choose the healthy route, no accident the same ones who train properly. some don't, again no accident same ones who don't train right.
most do it right, eating, sleeping and training. kids, families, coach on same page. the result is results.
