6th fastest time ever.
It's good thing Ethiopia hadn't picked their team yet.

Yeah, I guess so, but man, talk about depth! Jeebus!Maybe next year they can put a clock on the screen so we can see the race time. That would be nice.

Top 10 under 2:06:29!
Sweet jeebus that's fast!
Hall's gonna need his A game to break top 10 or maybe 15 in London.
Maybe not, only 3 Kenyans and 3 Ethiopians in the Olympics. No doubt that race will have less depth than many these days.
the women are on fire too!
Sub 2:20 for the top 3 women.
Medessa 2:19:31
Medessa Aselefech (Bronze medal in Berlin world champ marathon) won in 2:19:31 (3 Min PB)
Lucy KAABU 2:19:34 in marathon Debut!
3 sub 2:20 for the ladies, first time in history?

What other marathon will have 3 best Kenyans and 3 best Ethiopians on the planet?
No other, but there are marathons with more than 6 world class runners
Berhane Adere 2:20:42 ethiopian record was erase!$%
3 girls under 2:20, 5 under 2:21
big personal best for bezunesh 2:20.30
It seems like that marathon didn't have a lot of fast runners except the elites.
Wow what awesome races! That's the best marathon I've ever seen and maybe the best ever period. Thanks for the thread and the links.
8 people ran faster than Firehiwot Dado who defeated Mary Keitany.
Yes Kevin, it's always good to compare NYC and Dubai times.
bezunesh now 16th on the all time womans perfomer list.
Florence won't get selected to London for now since Mary Keitany and Lucy Kabuu ran a faster time and Edna kiplagat was selected.

Yes the deepest ever. I think the most ever under 210 was 14. Here 17 did it. Hell 14 guys here broke 2:08!!
Fastest places ever for spots #3-15 from what I can tell.

The Kenyan team selection will be interesting on both the men's and women's side. Not only did they say that the Daegu champions are selected, but they also said that the women's provisional team is:
"World titleholder Edna Kiplagat, London winner Mary Keitany, Berlin winner Florence Kiplagat, Daegu silver winner Priscah Jeptoo, the bronze winner in Korea Sharon Cherop and surprise inclusion veteran Lydia Cheromei..."
http://www.iaaf.org/Mini/OLY12/News/NewsDetail.aspx?id=63374Of course there is still the London marathon to come.

Gebremariam was third in Boston at 2:04:53
The best for 10th was 2:08:38 (updated 1.17.12) vs today 2:06:29.
Wow!

And 3 ladies under 2:20!
Deep as the deep, deep sea!
What was the temperature there today?
