Awesome interview. Wish Trafeh all the health leading up to the Trials so he can lay it on the line.
You're a bit unusual in being self-coached, and living in Morocco much of the year. Why is that?
MT: With all respect to other great athletes who are coached, and to their coaches, I'm just not someone who can trust in a coach. I ran great in high school without a coach, without good shoes, without any money. I ran 1:53 for 800, and 3:49 for 1500 and 29:10 for 10,000. I made it to the Foot Locker Cross-Country Championships twice. Then I got to college with the luxury of new shoes, a great gym, and everything you could ask for, but something went wrong. I think our coach didn't train us hard enough. I was only doing 50 miles a week much of the year. I started gaining weight. It wasn't right.
-----------
29:10 in highschool! His success is not really surprising.
can someone post a link to that 29:10? because all i could find was a 29:54 from his high school days. google didn't offer anything besides the 29:54. sure hope he's not embellishing, that would truly be sad considering all he's done lately.

Well, it is obvious that you think Solinsky's progression is suspect, also. I guess you may as well decide that anybody who doesn't fit some cookie cutter pattern of improvement that comports with your expectations is presumably cheating, or is at least raising enough red flags for you to accuse them of such.
I don't think Solinsky, Teg, Jager, Nelson, Rupp, Farah, Ritz or any of the other athletes in the Portland crowd are clean.
anyone have a link??? pretty much no evidence of a 29:10, as far as i can tell. that 29:54 "on a whim" is all over the net, but no results faster than that can be found. I think i recall him being a "one time" 10k'er, as in he's only run one in his life. just don't understand the need to embellish.
because he run 1.01.39 u think he cheated. I also knows that he gets tested every time he wins yet results shows that he is clean, are you trying to say that you are better than testing machines that can detect epo and other drugs. you sound like a lozer bro. get ur life.
Mo Trafeh is raw. He always has been. I ran against this guy in high school. In the midst of fasting for Ramadan he tied the CR at the Mt. SAC invite, 14:28. BEAST MODE.
This guy is a beast, and he's proving it on the course. GO MO!!!!
i'm glad you "knows". btw, apparently you're behind the times, epo leaves the system in 3-5 days. everyone knows to stop at least a week, if not two, before the race. not saying this is what he's doing, but going from mid level in highschool, to mediocre in college, to mediocre post college, to best in the US in a very short time. u sound like you never went passed grammar school bro. thanks i have a life and i also know when to be suspicious. don't worry, he's not the only person i'm suspicious of so don't get teh panties in a bunch "bro"

solinsky lost a LOT of weight. Also, I really wonder if these guys can't get most of the benefit of epo from living in those damn altitude houses.
Tomorrow we get to see Trafeh demonstrate the benefits of a solid cheating regimen.
I sure hope somebody has the balls to "Merga" his @$$. maybe then he could "solinsky" his way to a dnf. going to be the worst shame in US history if he makes the team.

Oh I thought epo was a natural substance in the body.

Thank you for posting that interview.
Based on his training, I think he will make the team easily.
sorry, rHepo. happy now mister nitpicker? funny that fagan is on an out of comp list and mo isn't. would have been nice to have kept him off this starting line too.

Why not claim Hall and Ritz are cheats? Hall's 59 minute half out of nowhere? Ritz running 12:56 out of nowhere?
These morons claim he cheats because it makes them feel better to disparage Trafeh because he came from Morocco. They don't think he's really an American. They don't like his kind of people, and they assume he cheats because some Moroccans got caught cheating.
lol
Well, TLW was a bit clueless eh?

Could this douchebag ever be any more wrong on everything?
bugger off Cliffy.

No, he wasn't clueless at all. He never said Trafeh didn't dope, he just said the "evidence" against him was stupid, which it absolutely was.
No matter who gets busted, suddenly hundreds of LetsRunners will talk about how they "knew it all along."
