I wouldn't go near NM. But then the people I know closer to the west coast are all have Bipolar. Maybe you'll get lucky and run into one with erotomania.

The son was already a full time assistant so I guess this is just a promotion? It's a sad state of affairs in Pittsburgh, as far as distance is concerned, and especially sad since they have so much young talent on the girls side.I don't know what happened with Bell. Seems like no one does. My guess is Webb was trying to tinker too much with his training and he got fed up with it and left or got fired since they couldn't get along. Last year Webb took over the girls xc team and it was a disaster until Cady took over and coached the entire womens distance squad himself the rest of the year, as a volunteer. He was the best thing that happened to the program, perhaps short of Sam Bair sr- was motivating the girls and trying to make it a normal D1 atmosphere. He had people on board too, which led to all the new recruits and somehow managed to get along with Webb. Then Webb scared him to the other side of the planet. Too bad because I imagine he will be a good coach somewhere some day.

doesn't matter what ya know its who ya know! And they will continue to be mediocre with hires like that.
Head coaches have a vision and strategy. Maybe Webb wasn't informed about some of the things going on with Bell, so Webb didn't know the way he was determined to run the program made it worse. Just guessing that's the reason Bell left.
Sounds like bell did what he thought was best for the program and the team/coaches- to get as far away from them as he could.
It was Cady who moved to the other side of the planet... no one knows where Bell is. My guess is Robinson Township

This is more of a 2013 opening, but with Fletcher Brooks heading to Oklahoma, Williams T&F will be open. Internal candidates?
If he was doing such a great job and getting along with Webb, perhaps he will apply for the position and come back?? Or did he end up leaving on bad terms? I would normally say he is probably too young or inexperienced to be the head distance guy but he is older and has more experience than Webb's son so it'd be possible at Pitt. As a Pittsburgh native who grew up cheering for Pitt, I'd really like to see there program do well.
Christopher Asher is now an assistant coach at UCLA. I do not know why he left CSULA? Maybe he is planning to get head coach position at a distinguished DI school and is using UCLA as another springboard. He went from Cal State Fullerton to Cal State LA, then this past summer he was coach for Team USA at the World Junior Championships in Barcelona, Spain, and now at UCLA so he seems to be moving up in the track coachin world. I don't know maybe I am missing something?
Anyone know who they are interviewing, if started, at Pitt?

How does a coach from Purdue and the Big Ten end up at a place like Cal Tech?

Being an assistant at Purdue might not be the hottest element on the resume, and some assistants get paid pretty low wages. CalTech had (unusual) compliance problems and this guy is likely to have much greater familiarity with the rules etc. Besides, while expensive, That part of Pasadena is rather nicer than West Lafayette.

Was fired for rules violations. He'll fit in great with Maynard and co.
more rules breakers getting a job, while good coaches don't get a call

Another idiot on here that doesn't know the whole story, yet finds it necessary to squeeze a comment out of their gaping assmouth. Bravo.

Robert Weir has been named the new throws coach for the University of Hawaii
No press release yet.
Weir sounds like a big time coach, seems like a good hire for UH! Wonder why he went to Hawai'i though?

Bowling Green State hires James Gildon from Fort Hayes State(jump/sprints/hurdles and a former UGA female distance runner. Question is, are they enough to help the falcons reclaim former glory?
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
