My December interview is with Kyle Heffner at http://www.garycohenrunning.com/Interviews/Heffner.aspx He placed third in the 1980 Olympic Trials Marathon in 2:10:54 which remains the fastest time ever for third place at the U.S. Olympic Trials. The 1979 and 1983 Dallas White Rock Marathon Champ also placed ninth at Boston and 11th at Fukuoka. Kyle discusses all of these topics, the 1980 Olympic boycott, running in the 1986 Goodwill Games Marathon, his training and amazing post-collegiate improvement, working as an exercise physiologist and researcher, plans to run in the 2012 Olympic Trials Marathon and ‘Inside Stuff’ like his greatest running moment, first running memory and some funny moments. At age 57 he ran 1:20:59 at the Dec. 4, 2011 Dallas White Rock Half Marathon. Kyle was very gracious in spending over two hours on the telephone for this interview.
